I Will never use dans optical again and I advise anybody else to stay away from this place. I was told my glasses would take a week. I never received a call and called 2 or 3 times over the next 2 weeks. Finally, in the third week, I had to go in and they finally got my glasses fixed made up excuses and never once gave me a call to let me know that there was an issue, please. Please, please please stay away from these people.

Let Me tell you about the nightmare I call DAN's OPTICAL. I first called Dan's Optical when I found out I needed to wear glasses. My mom has given me a pair of glasses that belonged to my Great Aunt, we were born on the same day, way different years though, she was born in 1896. They were solid BRASS w/ octagon lens, totally unique. I never got to meet the woman but, I'd been told so much about her. My Grandmother always said that we looked a lot a like & now I get to wear have the same glasses as she has been wearing in the the few pictures I had seen of her, they even had her teeth marks in the end pieces. Dan's Optical said he could put new lens' in for me so off I went to drop them off, little did I know I that I would never see them again. When I got there, I handed over the glasses & My prescription & then he goes on to tell me that I needed bifocals, so naturally I have to get progressive lens, & I get migraines so I needed to be photochromic, (transitional) but I was being assured it wouldn't cost that much. Once it was all said & done with, on top of the $175 my insurance it cost me another $331, I couldn't believe it! Every penny I had saved. And that's not all, I waited close to a month, & in the meantime twice I was told that they were ready just to pay someone to drive me, because I don't have a car, there & back from Anderson to Shasta Lake City, did I mention twice? Finally the day comes that my glasses were ready, finally, so I find a ride & it's getting close to closing time, I get there all to find out that my BRASS glasses are now PEWTER, WHAT? NO! Needless to say there was no resolution, just the fact that my glasses are gone & I'm out $331 because I cannot see a thing in them!!! I'm going to include a picture of them here too, might as well not be the only one who sees my useless $500+ glasses.

I ordered a new pair of lenses for my 6-year-old daughter from Dan’s Optical on October 10, 2025. She has a very high and complex prescription, and we were assured it would be no problem and that the lenses would be ready within a few weeks. It has now been over two months, and we still do not have her glasses. I have called repeatedly over many weeks and was consistently given excuses or no return calls. I was told things like: “We’re seeing patients, we’ll call you back,” “There are people ahead of you,” “The lab is having issues,” “It will be one more week,” or “They should be done by the end of the week.” When Fridays came, phones often went unanswered. I finally spoke with the manager, who again promised the lenses would be ready by Friday, December 19, 2025—today. She also disclosed for the first time that the lab has had issues with nine different lenses, which is the reason for the delays. With that many problems, it’s clear this office cannot handle my daughter’s prescription. What is most frustrating is that not once were we proactively notified that lenses were being reordered or that the lab was having issues. I only learned this after asking for a refund, at which point the manager defended the office by saying it was not their fault. However, communication is their responsibility. Calling customers back, providing updates, and not making promises they can’t keep are all their responsibility. At this point, I have zero confidence in this office. I requested a refund and made it clear that regardless, the delays and lack of transparency are unacceptable. If my daughter’s glasses were to break or if she had an accident, she would be without glasses again for months—which is not feasible. Her prescription is extremely high and not typical, and her quality of life depends on having proper vision.

One of the old optometrists that works there was pretty touchy Feely with our daughters. 3 daughters all 3 said they don't want to go back. They didn't say anything at first, but then when one said something, then all 3 finally said something about it. Brushing their leg, hand on the shoulder, just gave them the creeps.
