I have been seeing Dr. Kaplan yearly at DOC since 2021 for a diagnosed retinal hole. This year‘s visit was absolutely terrible. I got my eyes dilated by the assistant and sat in the waiting room for over 2 hours. Finally Dr. Kaplan saw me and spent

Very disappointed that my appointment with Dr. Barrett had to be canceled this morning. I felt the staff were acting incompetent, and I was treated like a number. 1st, I'm told to sign a "refraction form" for a procedure they couldn't or didn't want to bother explaining. It turned out that I didn't need it. It had just been done several months ago, so I saved $62. Then, there was confusion over my insurance coverage even though I had been going there for years and was there just 3 months ago. Then I started to wonder if I was even going to be examined. On top of the request that I come early, it was now 15 min. passed my appt. time. So my appt. starts, and I ask about the refraction. The tech really didn't explain anything and asked if I wanted to continue. I said I'm confused and this isn't making any sense to me, and agreed there was no need to continue, so they canceled the appt. Note: Had appt with my regular doctor this year and things are the same. Waited a half hour pass appt time without any mention that they were running late so, I left. Now we're looking for a new optomologist. You're just a number here.
Mismanaged place. Find another provider or after you schedule, your optometrist will probably quit and you will find out at the time you show up for your appointment. Barrett installed wrong lenses after cataract surgery.
Great appointment yesterday. I always receive good care. The doctor was kind and the office was efficient.
I have been a patient with Dr. Young for about 10 years. I can always expect to be in the office for an hour for routine annual visits. In summer 2024, I called to schedule my annual eye appointment. I was scheduled for January 2025. 1 hour before my appointment, I was called and told he had an emergency and needed to reschedule, for September 2025 after already waiting over 6 months for my appointment. Yesterday, I got a text that he retired and I needed to call to reschedule my appointment. Meanwhile, all the times I have tried to call and schedule an appointment, I’ve waited an average of 30-40 minutes to talk to someone. I went to another eye doctor earlier this year since I was told my appointment wouldn’t be until September and they told me my prescription has been written backwards for years. There are many levels to this practice that need to be changed and I will not be rescheduling with another doctor.
