I never got a chance to see the Doctor. I arrived thirty minutes early having driven a vehicle my wife isn’t comfortable driving. Upon checking in with my ID and insurance card along with the requested medications list, I was told right off the bat they WOULD be dilating my eyes due to some “medical” history information. I was not informed of such over the phone when I scheduled the appt and the front desk receptionist told me “oh, we don’t discuss that on the phone,” like it was some medical secret information. She did inform me they had drops to reverse the dilation but it was $30.00. She dropped the information that I could drive with dilated pupils, as “it’s like being in a movie theatre…” No s(&t…. Condescend much. Ok so we move on, I fill out all the paperwork, and signed everything. I walk up to the counter and I’m ignored for at least 5 minutes while the same receptionist was having a non-work related conversation with another person. I waited patiently… Then I’m guessing it was the assistant or a tech comes from the back and reaches for the clipboard. The reversal agent form was on top as I wished to discuss it with the doctor prior to making my decision about the reversal drops, as I had been informed they would be dilating my eyes. This tech or asst. informed me I could choose not to have my eyes dilated. Thats isn’t what I was told upon arrival. Then she goes on a patronizing rant about I could choose to have them dilated or not and just tick one of the box’s whether I wanted the reversal drops or not. Uh no, “I would rather discuss them with the doctor as I have pharmaceutical allergies.” Then she really got condescending about having my eyes dilated or not, as my wife tried to explain my concerns. As she continued to rant, I grabbed all the paperwork I could reach related to me being there and walked out. I’m a retired paramedic and a massive heart attack survivor. I’m not afraid to walk out of a doctors office due to snotty front office staff. I don’t discuss and make decisions about pharmaceutical agents based on some techs “expertise.” Her rant was almost a third grade recital of the form I needed to check off and sign. Crappy staff will destroy a doctors office. There are far too many other choices…

I have been a client here for several years. During that time, I have had about three problems with my eyes and Dr. Klufas has always been attentive, thorough, and comprehensive. This week ON DECEMBER 22ND!!! (when a lot of procrastinating patients try to get it to take advantage of benefits before they reset at year end!), I called with an urgent issue that ended up being a scratched cornea. VERY PAINFUL! Not only did he see me same day but he needed to see me in 24 hours but that meant he had to come in on the 24th since he saw he so late on the 22nd. He saw me on Christmas Eve morning. I have never seemed rushed in any of my dozen visits in the past five years and he has always taken care of me. Stop what you are doing and pick up the phone and snag an appointment with the best eye doctor in Texas. P.S. His staff is first class also and he doesn't gouge you or overcharge you. They know insurance and how to deal with it. NOW, why are you still online. GO call now.
Diamond K Eye Cares staff and owner are kind and courteous. Upon entering the office you are treated like family! Kathy always greets you by your name. It really means a lot to us. At other establishments your just the next appointment. Dr. Kuflas offers a comprehensive approach to insure your eye care meets your personal needs. Having a husband who has a medical diagnosis, Dr. Klufas offers specialized equipment to look well beyond a basic eye exam. I feel very confident my husband’s potential medical eye care will be detected early and swiftly have options for proper care. When you have an appointment there is always a review of your medications. Although for some people it is frustrating to “repeat” all of your information. For me, keeping my medications up to date dictated medical concerns and additional eye exams. With is thoroughness and additional eye exams, a plan was developed to keep my eyes healthy. We appreciate our relationship with the staff and Dr. Klufas. Their personalized care for my family is a blessing to us.
Dr. Klufas and staff are very professional and courteous. They take the time to answer any questions or concerns and make people feel comfortable. They really care about their patients. I've recommended them several times.
The entire staff was very friendly and courteous. They took the time to explain the various test on my eyes and future development of my eye sight. Very pleased with this Optometrist and close to home. I’ll make future plans for future visits.
