Dougherty Laser Vision

The medical care I received for my LASIK has been great. My customer experience on every visit to the office has been terrible. For each visit I have waited over an hour, and two of my appointments were reschedule by the office at the last minute. One of those times, no one from the office bothered to call and tell me until I showed up at the wrong location. For what they charge, they should treat their patients with more respect.

I was at DLV Vision Camarillo for a 1 week followup from cataract surgery. They were very accommodating when my appointment and a rescheduled appointment with Silver Strand Optometry were cancelled with little notice. DLV handled the issue and I was able to get important information about my recovery from a very knowledgeable doctor, as well as having a specific question directly answered by my surgery ophthalmologist. The staff were also very friendly and helpful.

Despite having scheduled my appointment a nearly a month in advance, the intake process was highly inefficient. After spending 40 minutes filling out forms and emailing copies of my insurance cards, I was informed that they Do Not Accept my insurance. I was then told I could only be seen if I paid a $250.00 out-of-pocket fee. It is disappointing that my insurance coverage was not verified prior to my arrival, especially considering the appointment was made weeks ago. This resulted in a total waste of my lunch hour. I have noticed other reviews describing this exact scenario, which leads me to question if this is a recurring issue with your scheduling process. I would consider other options before booking here.

My first visit with this Doctor and I was very impressed. I had lens replacement done with this office and it was the best thing I have done for myself. She gave me information that no other doctor has provided and it is making a difference.

Do not get LASIK done here. Issue after issue and lack of organization when trying to complete all the pre-op tasks, wasn’t given the correct eye drops, delayed responses regarding completing consent forms and making the payment for surgery. On the day of my surgery, I get prepped in the office just to be told the laser machine isn’t working and would have to reschedule. So disappointing.
