If I could give Dr. Stephenson, Christine, Angie, and Jillian ten stars I would. I am 74 and have been dealing with Dry Macular Degeneration for a few years. My driving is good, but I wasn't sure I could pass the DMV Eye Test. My former doctor said that a change of prescription wouldn't help my vision, and could even make it worse. He also said I may not pass the DMV Eye Test. He was wrong. Dr. Stephenson and Christine gave me a thorough eye exam, and a new eyeglass perscription. There was no guessing. These people don't play. I ordered a few pairs of beautiful eyeglasses with the new prescription. I still have macular issues, but my vision is 100% better. If you need a new optometrist, go here.

Beyond disappointing! As my optometrist of several years, I fully trusted Dr. Stephenson with my eye care. That is until the prescription on all 3 new eyeglasses (reading, distance & sunglasses) was wrong - Again. I literally could not see with the new glasses. So the prescription on all 3 pairs - was redone. I still could not see with the revised prescription glasses, yet I was assured they were correct and made to feel like I was “imagining things”. I consulted another optometrist who, after a thorough examination told me that my cataracts were too advanced (news to me - how did Dr. Stephenson miss this?!?) and that NO eyeglass prescription would resolve my vision issues. Thankfully, the new optometrist refused to sell me expensive prescriptions - that would NOT work. I was told to use readers temporarily and referred to an ophthalmologist for cataract surgery. Never again will I or my family members return to Stephenson Eye Care. Horrible doesn’t cover it!

Dr. Stephenson is top notch as is his office staff! I had pink eye months ago and post medication ended up with really bad dry eyes. Previous eye doctor put me on drops and months went by without significant improvement, then I went to get a second opinion (I will name the practice) and they put me on 3 different drops multiple times a day and said to stay out of contacts. I went back every month to check in and was told I still had really dry eyes but to come back in 3 weeks... I was getting fed up and said "what if I am having a reaction to the drops..." the doctor said "Hmmm maybe we just remove everything and see how you do?"... I don't know you are the doctor. In comes my friend who knew Dr. Stephenson... I went to Dr. S for a 3rd opinion and he was such a breath of fresh air!!!! It is a family practice so you actually speak to a human when you call, his office staff is warm and welcoming and appointments are on time. Dr. Stephenson is next level. He is kind, caring, polite and not pretentious. He spends time educating you on your eyes and what is happening and how to mitigate issues. I instantly felt at home and like I mattered. Funny thing is, he spent far more time with me than any previous doctor and immediately said the drops I had been on were mis-prescribed as they were for dry eyes due to inflamed eyelids which I didn't have. He removed all drops and gave me a kit to help sooth my eyes. Within 24 hours... no prescriptions... only lubricating PF drops and a mask my eyes have been 100% better. He is knowledgeable and kind and solved the problem 3-4 others hadn't been able to. I am forever a patient and will never go anywhere else. There are lots of options in Florida but I would not risk your eyes with another doctor. One thing to note - if you call after hours they even provide his cell phone for emergencies. This level of patient care does not exist anymore. Never change Dr. S. Stay true to the white glove, family oriented service. I'm beyond grateful for you and your staff! Blessed to have found you!

I was referred to Dr Stephenson by long time clients of his, who grew up locally. I cannot say enough about Dr Stephenson and his wonderful office staff. They are very professional but so kind and warm, Dr Stephenson is very attentive, listens and thorough. I recommend the practice to anyone looking for a great optometrist with state of the art equipment.

My experience as a patient of Dr. Stephenson's has been nothing short of great. The office is clean and the staff is both friendly/knowledgeable in delivering service. Dr. Stephenson recently went above and beyond to help me in a bind. It was Christmas Eve and I was traveling down to the area to spend the holiday with family. I had forgotten all of my contacts, and called the office planning to simply leave a message, with the hope of getting a few spare contacts the following Monday. But, to my surprise, Dr. Stephenson answered, kindly offered to pull contacts and make them available for me to grab that very day. It was a simple gesture, but it certainly made a big impact on me, and thus I highly recommend his service.
