I've been his patient for over a decade, and he consistently provides the most thorough and patient-centered eye examinations I've ever experienced. Dr. Uslan is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, professional and is committed to providing relevant, cutting edge, as well as tried and true, recommendations and service. He helped me find contacts that were a game changer, after 14 years of a decent but not great fit. His stories and warmth, alone, are enough reason to see him but his knowledge is top notch. I cannot recommend him enough and am dreading the day he retires. The glasses frame selection is quite hip and I've never been more pleased with an optometry office selection. I love the contact case recycling program too. He's so great that I started bringing my mom from out of state for glasses. Love him and his wife, Georgia!!

I have never had a better Doctor's visit. Even if you are not in Ann Arbor Dr. Uslan is worth the drive. He explained everything to me in layman's terms that I understood without a single ounce of drool! Seriously though, my white coat syndrome never ever kicked in. The whole process was amazing and I am extremely thankful and impressed by the visit that I had with Dr. Uslan.

I was really excited to find a place that sells European brand frames. However, if you're actually from Europe, don't bother making an appointment here. When I called, the woman I spoke with (who I assume is the optometrist's wife) sounded clearly irritated to the point of being rude. I suspect her frustration stemmed from my accent and uncommon name, which probably threw her off. Just to clarify, I teach baking workshops and substitute teach, so I speak plenty of English, and people rarely ask me to repeat myself. But I understand that it can be annoying to hear someone spell out their name. However, in all my 8 years living in the U.S. and making countless appointments, I've never encountered anyone as irritated as she was. Despite this, I decided to go ahead with the appointment, even though I was tempted to just hang up. My excitement about their European frames clouded my better judgment. But as she hung up the phone, my suspicions were confirmed when I overheard her say, “Oh my god, and then she has that accent,” followed by laughter. That was when I decided this place doesn’t deserve my business. I immediately called back to let her know she had forgotten to hang up and I overheard her, and since she clearly had an issue with my accent, I wanted to cancel my appointment. She had no trouble understanding this and didn’t even apologize. She just said, “OK.” This further confirmed for me that she likely isn’t a fan of foreigners. I won’t go as far as calling her out with the “r” word, but I definitely thought about it. Maybe the optometrist is good, I can't comment on that.

Great Optometrist and practice! Both of my teenage daughters and I have been patients of Dr. Uslan's for many years. The care, experience, and personalized attention are outstanding. Dr. Uslan has always gone above and beyond with our care. Dr. Uslan took the time to work with both of my daughters to fit them for their contacts and make sure they were comfortable with putting them in and getting them out. They felt very comfortable working with Dr. Uslan and Georgia throughout the process and felt that they made it all much more relaxed and easier. When it came to billing, Dr. Uslan navigated two different insurance coverages like a pro to make sure to keep out-of-pocket expenses to a minimum. I highly recommend Dr. Uslan!!
