I scheduled an appointment as a new patient. The front desk staff was friendly and made the process simple and easy. Dr. Barouh was great. He was informative and took the time to explain what he was doing and why, something previous optometrist's have failed to do. I feel more educated about my eyes and I will definitely be coming back next year.

I've used this doctors services for years with never having or hearing of a complaint. I just now looked up his name to find his phone number to make an appointment. In doing so, I indirectly stumbled across his reviews and was surprised by the negative ones. I'd like to add that most people are more inclined to write a review after a negative experience vs a positive one. That being said, although the experiences of the negative reviews may be true, I believe most of his customers are happy with his service (as am I) and just haven't been moved to write a review. I'll be calling him tomorrow for my yearly eye exam and ordering of new contacts. I have no doubt that my experience will be just as delightful as many other appointments in the past.
This doctor is terrible. The office is dirty and extremely out-dated. They had me sign a cut up slip of paper that only had a line to sign on. When I asked what it was, the receptionist said, "You know about HIPAA, right?" So, rather than giving patients the proper information about HIPAA, they just have them sign a slip that says they read something that they haven't even seen. It took him almost a full hour to perform my exam, because he hadn't set up the machine properly the first time and didn't realize it until about a half hour in. I told him over and over again that I was seeing double through the machine and he insisted I should be seeing correctly. Turned out, he was wrong. They have no selection, as far as glasses are concerned. If you want any kind of name brand, go somewhere else. I like Ray Bans. They didn't have a single pair. When I was checking out with him, I noticed that he added a bunch of lens charges that I didn't ask for and that we hadn't discussed. I told him to take off anything that wasn't included in my insurance. He flat out refused. So, I paid an extra $85 for my lenses. Finally, when I got my glasses (two full weeks after my appointment), they were not the right RX. Could not see at all. Just terrible.
Very friendly and helpful. The exam was thorough and I left which a prescription that felt very good. I thought the follow up appointment to check contact fitment was unusual, but Welcomed and a nice extra step.
My experience matches Alice's review. I have been going to Dr. Barouh for years and so appreciate his professionalism and care and that of his staff. I feel so fortunate to have such a resource in my community.
