⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Dr. Yip, Lourdes, and the entire staff are simply amazing! From the moment you walk in, you’re treated like family. Dr. Yip is knowledgeable, thorough, and genuinely cares about his patients. Lourdes is an absolute sweetheart ✨professional, helpful, and always goes above and beyond. The whole team is friendly, efficient, and incredibly knowledgeable. And as a bonus, they’re always so fashionable! It’s rare to find an office that combines exceptional care, professionalism, and such a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend to anyone looking for outstanding eye care and an amazing patient experience!
I want to start saying that the service here is phenomenal. Long story short, I moved to FL from CA, I didn't have an optometrist here. My current lenses are broken down and I had a Europe Trip Scheduled. I called in the office and gave them my situation. I know that it was in a tight deadline, and I am not an easy patient to work with. Dr Yip, Lourdes and her staff worked in another level of professionalism and went above and beyond to help me with my situation. I got contact lenses and my Meta AI glasses done in time for my trip. Dr. Yip is a very knowledgeble doctor and explains everything in a perfect way that you can clearly understand. If I could give a 20 out 5, I would. Highly recommend the place! Thanks for the extraordinary treatment. This is is my to go place for now on.
I think very carefully before posting a negative review about an establishment, because I always think that people may just be having a bad day. But this isn't the case with the retail section of Dr. Yip's office. While Dr. Yip is a very qualified, very thorough physician, the staff member he chose to run the part of the practice that manages the eyeware is extremely pushy, very disingenuous, and pressures you to buy every extra feature by telling you "it's necessary for your vision." Had I purchased just one pair of single-vision glasses from them, including the frame they recommended, I would have paid over $425. They also charge fees they should not be, when dealing with insurance. One of those fees was a $45 charge for the single-vision lenses, which I should not have been charged; according to my insurance coverage, that cost is $0, and I verified this with the insurance provider after the visit. When the staff member was tallying up the charges for the extra features, they did not even ask me what I wanted, they just kept adding numbers to the sheet. I will say that this sales team member did attempt to get to know me and empathize with some of the challenges I was facing when deciding on how much to spend on eyeware, even trying to form an emotional bond in just a short time over a shared experience. However, when I pushed back on needing every single extra feature that was being forced on me, and then stating that the price was well out of my range and what I was accustomed to paying, I was immediately dismissed and the staff member just got up and walked off, without another word and completely disregarding the "bonding" conversation we just had. Hence my use of the word "disingenuous" in this review. They also charge more, almost a 70% mark-up, on OTC products they stock in the clinic. While I understand this is now a standard business strategy for medical practices to generate additional income, the prices still seem pretty high compared to what you can spend on the exact same product at a local pharmacy. I won't be returning to this office, which is a shame, because I do trust Dr. Yip. But I never want to deal with the sales staff member again and the absolute "fake" presence they had, nor the prices they charge.
This is sad for me to write because I really liked Dr. Yip. He is very knowledgeable and friendly. However, at this new location he and his wife seem very money driven. I got glasses from their office because I was sold on the idea of them having the best lenses ever…turns out that’s NOT true. My lenses suck…my frames broke 3 times now…and I got my glasses from them in Nov. 2025! I haven’t had such a bad experience with glasses since I ordered some in GlassesUSA some years ago. Just based off of reviews and their no refunds no matter what policy I’m not even going to waste what energy I do have trying to talk to the office. My lenses were VERY heavy and I paid for them to be shaved down…I don’t think they were plus there’s like a weird blue halo and constant reflections. It’s just a shame that they’re taking advantage of people that can’t see and have disabilities. I spent about 300$ on my glasses and now I’m sitting here crying about it because that’s a lot of money…and it really sucks having disabilities that zap my energy so much I can’t even fight this. It’s just very very disappointing…I won’t be back and I won’t recommend Dr Yip anymore. :(
