Love this doctor office!! Myself and adult children have gone here for years now and get the best care. Yes it’s smaller then the big places but that makes more person oriented then customer oriented.

The doctor was very friendly and knowledgeable, and the examination itself went smoothly. However, when I was asked at the front desk to sign consent for treatment forms, apparently I verbally consented to an examination not covered by my insurance. I was assured that the visit would be fully covered and there wasn't any mention of extra charges, yet now I'm stuck with an extra $30 bill that materialized out of thin air. And to be absolutely clear, the service in question wasn't run through insurance first and not covered afterwards. They genuinely mentioned from the start that it should be covered. The owner's response to my review really glosses over that.
I am very blessed to have such a caring and compassionate optometrist that I can ask questions, receive responsive, thoughtful feedback, and who ensures I receive the best optical care possible. Today Doctor Mayhew spent an amazing amount of time with me. I simply went for my annual eye exam. Unbeknownst to me, I have a portion of my vitreous gel about to detach. Doctor Mayhew spent so much time explaining to me what to expect when it does. Without Doctor Mayhew's attention to every detail of my annual eye exam, my condition could have easily been missed. As this detaching gel could also cause my retena to detach, catching this condition was paramount to maintaining my vision. (Retinal detachment can cause permanent blindness in a matter of hours.) In addition, the entire staff is wonderful. They make you feel welcome and comfortable from the moment that you walk through the door. The ladies spent so much time answering my additional questions and helped me to choose the perfect pair of glasses. If you value your vision, personalized care and compassion, look no further! Eagle Eyes South is the place to go and Doctor Mayhew is the man you need to see!
The staff were super polite and the doctors were attentive and knowledgeable. I was taken care of in a timely manner all while my concerns were addressed.
After my first cataract surgery in 2018, I was told by my retinal specialist in August 2020 that I had some cloudiness behind my intraocular lens (IOL) implant and I should consult my ophthalmologist for a possible YAG procedure to clear it up. After my 2nd cataract w/ IOL surgery in October 2020, my vision was poor. I couldn't read without a magnifying glass, driving during the day was difficult and I dreaded driving at night (I used to love driving at night). In 2024, I when to see my ophthalmologist for a routine eye exam / refraction. He told me I had minimal cloudiness and I wasn't a candidate for a YAG procedure. He prescribed me a pair of glasses that didn't help my vision issues at all! I later read that in the state of Colorado a properly trained optometrist can now perform the YAG procedure for cloudiness behind the intraocular lens (IOL) implant (posterior capsule opacification). Dr. Jordan Mayhew is licensed to do the YAG procedure. I decided to see him at Eagle Vision South in late August 2025 for a routine eye exam / refraction. Right away he informed me that there was cloudiness behind both of my IOL's (right eye greater that the left). If it wasn't for the birth of his first child, I would have had the first YAG procedure done in early September. Instead, I had the YAG procedure performed on my right eye late September. My vision was immediately better. Everything was brighter & clearer as before my right eye cataract. Two weeks later he performed the YAG procedure on my left eye. Same results! I no longer need a magnifying glass to read. I feel so much better driving during the day and at night. I can again see the puck during a hockey game :-) Dr. Mayhew performed the YAG procedure on my eyes in 1-2 minutes each. It was painless. I did experienced floaters for 3-4 weeks. Four plus years of poor vision cleared up in 2 weeks! As a former OR tech, OR nurse and Perioperative Director. I would never tell someone if one of my doctors was a "good" or "bad" surgeon. With that in mind . . . I would recommend Dr. Mayhew for my family, relatives and friends. He and his staff are caring, pleasant and professional. NOTE: If you have had cataract surgery in the past and are "re-experiencing" cloudy vision. You may need the YAG procedure. Dr. Mayhew is able to diagnose the posterior capsule opacification and break it up with the YAG laser. Probably in less time than it would take to get a referral from your PCM to see your ophthalmologist and approval from your insurance to have the YAG procedure.
