I’m giving two stars because it’s harder to remove, but please do not ever go to this place. They refuse to give you your prescription after you pay for an exam because they want you to buy from them which is highly illegal. They gave me 2020 trial contacts in 2026. And they avoid accountability. They also want you to pay for trial contacts when on the contact box and individual contacts it states NOT FOR SALE. And I was told by multiple eye doctors in the area that they are always doing bad business and have to get police involved often. If they respond to this it’s bs. I’ve been going round and round with them just trying to get my right Prescription. Don’t give them a dollar

I've been a patient of Elko eye center for years. Dr. Houchin is top notch I've had a great experience with him thus far. The glasses department is very friendly and helpful. "BUT" Trying to pick up my glasses during business hours on Friday 11:30 and 12:45 closed, today 10:45 closed. If I may make a suggestion, if you're going to step out leave a note on the door saying when you'll be back. I have a 25 minute drive to get here. I can't do that multiple times a day or every day. Yes I could have called first but I was already in town for other errands.

Absolutely miserable experience, I knew I wasn’t going back when I went out to get a box of contacts from my truck for the doctor. After using 6 hours of annual leave to come into town before the office closed on two separate occasions because I was informed that my contacts were in and still not being able to pick them up confirms what other reviews I’ve read (I wish I had read them prior), to others that share my experiences, at least it doesn’t take long to learn, right! I feel your pain! Once if ever I do get my contacts I will put this office gladly behind me.

The staff are great! Dr Houchen was amazingly patient with my wiggly 5 year. We will definitely be back. Update: My sons glasses were ready exactly when they said they would be, even with a holiday and being closed for a day. Pickup was seamless.

I brought my daughter there when she was 18 months old! They where amazing with her & she did great. Doctor was great with her & we got her glasses. I was also able to purchase frames from somewhere else, they didn’t have very small frames at the time, and we put her script in those! She’s been wearing them since! ❤️ Can’t wait to take her back! Friendly staff & the doctor is great with kids ❤️
