Excel Family Optometry – Chino Hills

Great office! Runs on time, Dr. Nguyen was so thorough and knowledgeable and answered all my questions. At no point did I feel rushed. They also were very helpful picking out frames. The office is very nice but not so over the top where I start to wonder if the fees I'm paying are going towards paying off equipment, etc. Overall great feeling, great staff and great doctor, highly recommend to anyone living in the Chino Hills area.

Our entire family has been coming to Excel for 4 years for all our eye exams and glasses. The last few years we have noticed a decline in their quality of lenses and frames and have slowly been buying from other companies while still getting our eye exams here. Our last service was a last minute need for new lenses in sunglasses due to a change in prescription. My husband left his favorite Raybans for them to replace the lenses and the day after picking them up he noticed that there was a crack in the frame. He reached out to Excel immediately and they apologized that the lab didn’t notify them of the crack they made installing the new lens and that they tried to glue it back together. Excel showed an unprofessional lack of care to charge people a fee for using your own glasses, crack their frames in their labs care, offering no refund or replacement and responding with a “too bad too sad” response. It’s a shame that they don’t understand that the treatment of all your customers is far more important than the profit you make off of them.

This place never answers the phone or returns calls. Also, the frames are overpriced. Order your frames online and then order your lenses there if you have to.

“Buyer Beware”👀👎🤬 I would give this business a zero star if it was an option 🤬 you need to read the latest reviews and now mine in order to see a pattern of unprofessionalism and lack of compassion to their customers 👎 same excuses about their labs not performing 😡 they gave me a few updates that my glasses would be ready soon in a span of almost a month just for them to tell me that they couldn’t use the transition lenses option for that particular frame🤬🤬 why have those frames there if you have no idea there capabilities are.. also, they don’t have new frames ; they expect you to take the ones that have been used there and charge you full price like a new one. 👎👎👎false promises cost me a month without my important glasses and probably another 2-3 weeks to find another 🤬🤬🤬 $1000 transaction(out of pocket and insurance) to get this kind of service 👎👎👎 So Buyer Beware: look at their latest reviews 👀

I would highly recommend you visit Excel Family Optometry for your vision needs. Initially, my husband and I were nervous about going to get our eyes checked during this pandemic, but Dr. Nguyen, Sylvia, and Leslie made the experience very pleasant. The office was very clean and you can tell that the place was sanitized frequently. They had a tray for you to place all glasses that have been tried on, so they can sanitize them thoroughly before putting them back on the display. Dr. Nguyen was very detailed in explaining what he observed and suggested. Sylvia and Leslie were friendly and helpful. Overall, this is a wonderful place!
