Dr. Ryan McCarthy at Eye Care Associates of Wichita is friendly, he listens and answers your questions, he gives you his full attention. I’ve had some Dr.’s look at their watch three times in the 20 minutes I was with them. His staff is great, too!
I have used Eye Care Associates for Years. The doctor takes time with you to answer any question you have about your vision. He and his staff are so friendly. His staff even helped me jump start my car one time when I accidentally left the lights on! They go above and beyond there! I highly recommend them!
I have mixed feelings about this location. Dr. McCarthy and his assistants are absolutely amazing and do a wonderful job every single time. However, my issue has consistently been with the staff in the lenses and frames section. Over the last three years, I’ve had three separate encounters here, and every single time I’ve been met with a noticeable undertone of attitude, uncomfortable body language, and a feeling that they simply do not want to help me. When I ask questions or voice concerns, I often receive very short, dismissive answers. I don’t know if they are uncomfortable with me or if there is another reason for the interaction, but the unwelcoming energy has become impossible to ignore at this point. I did bring this issue up and spoke directly with Dr. McCarthy about it, so I truly hope things improve moving forward. Interestingly, when I visit their Hillside location, the experience is completely different; everyone there, including the frames department, is incredibly helpful, welcoming! The West location seriously needs to address customer service and inclusivity training within its optical section.
I began seeing Dr. Tom McCarthy in about 1992, & have always received excellent care in a friendly atmosphere from the entire staff. Tho Tom has now retired, I still receive the same high quality care from his son, Dr. Ryan McCarthy. Highly recommend Eyecare Associates to all my friends and family, and to whoever is reading this.
Forced to find a new optometrist, I chose Dr Wise at Eye Care Assoc on Maize Rd. What a GREAT choice! Not only is he fantastic but each of the staff that I met and have spoken with on the phone are super friendly and so very helpful! If you are looking for complete eye care they have it all and you will have a pleasant visit with all staff and Doctors!
