Customer service has gone downhill. No one under the age of 30 is capable of saying "oops, I messed up" or "sorry". It's always "our system did something...." or "what do you want me to do about it" -- and just blaming technology. Anyhow, after a decade, time to find a new eye care location.
Customer of 28 years (started as child). Came in for appointment and was advised I didn’t have an appointment today. Next appointment is not available for two more months. Have an expired prescription for contacts and no current glasses. Requested a trial pair of contacts. Advised only will provide a courtesy pair if I make a new appointment now. Advised I could call back to do so. Denied courtesy pair unless I made appointment immediately. To contrast, I once traveled out of state, forgot contacts, and was able to obtain a trial pair from an eye practice with whom I have no relationship whatsoever simply by calling and asking. What a disappointment in regard to customer service.
Office staff does not know what they are doing, when it comes to insurance. Had to file my own claim through insurance. After claim was approved the eye place called me saying they were going to bill me. Which i had already paid the bill. My insurance was reimbursing me since i had to do my own filing. To top it off my insurance paid them extra, but remember according to the office staff i did not have insurance. Hmmm, i apparently i did if my insurance paid more money on top of what i paid. Will not be going back, this office has lost my business.
Dr. Stieb is very thorough and personable! He doesn’t make the patients feel rushed through the exam, and takes the time to double check the prescription is perfect before sending you on your way. Sometimes the wait in the waiting area is a little long, but I really don’t mind it if it means I’m getting a great eye care experience. Definitely recommend Eye Care on Gore!
