My experience location was phenomenal. I experienced two not so great interactions at a different location in Garner, I could honestly tell you that this location did not disappoint. The location is actually very convenient and beautiful In downtown Raleigh. From the time I walked in, I was greeted with nothing but pleasantries. Everyone was extremely professional and friendly. Dr. Demarco was top tier. He had such a great personality. He was very knowledgeable as well as very thorough in explaining all the things that were occurring throughout my appointment including: prescription changes as well as next steps. All of which was greatly appreciated and I really appreciate how thorough he was. I apologize I don’t know the woman’s name who assisted me when it came to picking out my frames. She was a brunette, but she was very, very patient with me as I was having a hard time deciding which frame I wanted. She was very helpful in providing assistance on not only what looked best on me, but explaining what frame would serve me best with my prescription. This staff was Nothing short of phenomenal. I would definitely recommend. I’m so grateful that I ended up at this facility instead of the one I chose for myself. Everything happens for a reason and I’m very thankful to the entire staff at this facility.

Will not be returning. I was thirty minutes early to my appointment. No insurance change on my part, but the receptionist explained that there was a backend change from my insurance provider and the receptionist couldn’t figure out how to determine who to bill as they bill a third party and their system was slow that day. This meant they didn’t know who to bill, not that they didn’t take my insurance. Somehow, this still equaled them not allowing me to proceed with my appointment with any certainty the bill would be covered, as they refused to proceed if they didn’t know who to bill. This is an issue between them and the insurance company. I had no way of looking this up nor was I even aware of this. It took so long to resolve the assistant started threatening to cancel my appointment if I didn’t agree to proceed with the appointment unsure if they would take my insurance as we were approaching the fifteen minute no show period. Again, they take my insurance, I know because this was my second appointment, and I had arrived a full half hour before my appointment. The receptionist’s inability to resolve this had literally nothing to do with me nor could I do anything about it. I was in a position where if they could not resolve this, they would bill me as though I was uninsured just to cover themselves and I could not have afforded that. I understand these systems are confusing but relaying all of that pressure onto me was irresponsible and created an extremely uncomfortable environment for the rest of my appointment where I could not trust I was receiving proper care, as I was additionally told the doctor had to leave to pick up her kids and was running late. This meant the doctor only allowed thirty minutes total for my appointment. Why she did this with full ability to view my file and case history is beyond me, but I can’t help but feel all of this equaled out to a poor quality of care I could not trust. The doctor additionally was not familiar with my history even though this was my second appointment, increasing my suspicion here. My first appointment was wonderful and came with a referral to a local neurologist. The second it was as though she’d never heard of the condition at all. I have a serious eye condition and cannot work with an office who chooses to conduct business this way. I’m aware this was likely a perfect storm of issues, but each person who saw me that day made a choice and it equaled out to the very palpable impression they were deeply uninterested in my care. Maybe that’s fine for others but this was such an intensely uncomfortable experience I immediately canceled next year’s check up.

I came in with some anxiety around contacts after a bad experience at another office, and Briana’s patience and encouragement while teaching me how to put them in and take them out made all the difference! Dr. Demarco and the rest of the staff are also very friendly and knowledgeable. If you’ve had a negative experience elsewhere and feel hesitant, please give the downtown Eyecare center a chance.

Highly recommend. Dorothy & Andrea at the front desk are always so helpful and personable. This was my first time seeing Dr. Demarco, who is easy to talk to and explains things in a clear & concise way.

Very relieved & appreciative of the professionalism we received today for my son’s check up visit. We had an awful, rude & unprofessional experience with Dr. Rohm at the Crabtree Valley location. I’m mention her name because I should! She should be ashamed of herself for the way she treated us! It takes a very high level of bad service for me to take time to make a review and I had to because it was very frustrating & upsetting to experience that. We had to wait another two months to get this appointment because of that. HOWEVER… today’s experience at the Downtown location was the complete opposite! Bri the office manager did his exam and she was kind, caring & understanding to my son’s special needs. She listened & took time to listen to my concerns about his condition. We really needed the professional opinion of their expertise to assist us. Dr. DeMarco, came in with the same level of care. Concerned & understanding, listened as well as offered his opinion on what my son has been experiencing. Very relieved to now have a plan of action to assist my son. Only if we could have came to this location first! I’m just grateful, anyone who is a caregiver really appreciate people in the medical field who actually love what they get to do and treat people with dignity & respect. Thank you to this location for assisting us today really appreciate it!
