I was assisted by Pegane at the Elizabeth City location. She was extremely friendly and outgoing as she helped me with selecting sunglasses. She was very knowledgeable about the lenses and options available to create what would work best for me. She offered valuable advice on options I would not have otherwise known about. Morgan and the ENTIRE staff are always friendly, always listens to my needs. Sandy helped me with selecting frames. She's very patient and answers all my questions. Dr Moncla is awesome. Always has great advice and makes sure I'm right before I leave.

My wife recently had an eye exam at this office and ordered a new pair of prescription glasses. There was nothing custom or designer about the order, yet it took over two and a half months for her glasses to arrive. That alone was frustrating. During that time, she called the office more than 20 times trying to get an update. Her calls went unanswered, and multiple voicemails were ignored. When someone finally answered the phone, they acted as though the glasses had just arrived that day. Based on the circumstances, that explanation did not seem truthful. When my wife went to pick up her glasses, the experience became even worse. The staff was unprofessional, dismissive, and rude. The employee who assisted her—an older woman with white hair—handled the situation in a disrespectful manner. She practically shoved the glasses into my wife’s hand instead of treating her like a valued customer. As her husband, I find this completely unacceptable. Everyone deserves to be treated with courtesy and respect. I can’t say with certainty whether my wife was treated differently because she is Latina, but the way she was spoken to and treated certainly left us questioning whether bias played a role. We will be reporting this experience to the corporate office because no customer should have to wait months for a basic pair of glasses, be ignored when asking for updates, and then be treated disrespectfully when finally picking them up. I sincerely hope management addresses these issues so other patients don’t have the same experience.
