Eyes on Chelsea Vision Care

Zero Stars and a huge thumbs down. Quite possibly the worst back office I’ve ever dealt with. After being a customer for many years, their back office failed to bill (NO BILL, INVOICE, or CALL for 12 months- 2025) and order my contacts correctly. And then a year later had the audacity to blame me for not paying. I paid exactly what they asked me to pay over the phone ( a year earlier) and they shipped me my contacts. They made multiple mistakes in their back office (never acknowledged), mistakes in ordering my contacts (never acknowledged), and misleading the patient for the ‘real cost’ of the contacts (never acknowledged). And somehow this was all my fault. Some of the most rude associates you will ever encounter (and they are always right….just ask them). So, if you like to be treated poorly, billed incorrectly (or not at all), and gouged (or lied to) on anything you purchase there, then it’s a great place to get your eyes checked! I’ve made my last visit. Best of luck to you! Glw

First visit to the Chelsea office (I had previously been a customer at the Sylacauga location), and it was a wonderful experience! Everyone was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and professional. It felt like I'd been going there for years. The exam was very thorough, even compared to the one I had last year, and I was able to get a pair of new prescription sunglasses in Oakley frames at a very reasonable price. I liked them so much that my wife and daughter will be making appointments in the next few weeks.

The entire process of getting an eye exam and getting prescription sunglasses at Eyes on Chelsea was 5 Stars. Best experience I’ve ever had at the eye doctor. Everyone was so nice, patient and very helpful. I will recommend them to all my friends. Thank you folks!

This was an awful experience all around. Incredibly unprofessional. Was referred and scheduled an appointment for vision therapy. Showed up and had to wait almost a full hour after our appointment time to be called back. They thought we were just new patients and tried to do an eye exam. They hadn't requested any records from the referring optometrist and had no idea why we were even there after I had explicitly made the appointment for a vision therapy consult on the recommendation of another physician. They tried to blame it on the fact that the employee that scheduled my appointment was at another location that day. Complete lack of taking responsibility for their mistake and attempting to blame others is ridiculous. Had to check out my child from school and arrange childcare for my other one only to have my time completely wasted. Oh yeah and one more thing. The exam room they took us in had the medical records of the previous patient pulled up and visible to the entire room on the computer so that's a massive HIPAA violation.

The employees here are kind and professional. They have up-to-date technology that makes your eye appointment easy and painless. I take medication for my autoimmune disease that requires a specific eye test, which they are able to do. They are very responsive over the phone. Thankful to have them as my eye doctor!
