The office was clean, staff efficient and friendly. The wait time was minimal and time in the office was reasonable for a very thorough study of my eyes. Dr. Butler explained findings and showed the pics/ test results while covering implications for now and expectations for future eye changes. GREAT experience. I’m confident in the care I received!

I was met with friendly service when I walked in and was processed through quickly. The doctor was friendly and professional in my eye exam He explained everything thoroughly. The lady explained my insurance and what it would cover. Took her time to ensure I got the glasses I wanted. All of my visits are exceptional

Dr Butler is always very concerned about his patients! He is very attentive and makes you feel comfortable as he examines you. He jokes with my 10 year old grandson to put him at ease during his checkup… He’s the BEST ❤️❤️

Our pediatrician referred our girls here, ages 11 and 13. We set the appointment in September, with the soonest appointment being in June. After waiting 9 months for this appointment, less than a month before, I received a text stating that Optos retinal imaging is now a required $39 charge when not covered by insurance. I should have called and inquired about this that day, but I'll admit, I'm an extremely busy person during their business hours while I’m at my own 9-5, and I overlooked the opportunity to discuss it prior to the appointment. However, I received the same text the day before the appointment. Upon doing my research, I learned that insurance doesn't typically cover this and I should be able to decline it with an alternative being available. Let me be clear. My issue isn't the procedure itself. My issue is that during the 9-month wait for this appointment, there was a less than 30-day notice that there would be an add-on fee. And considering that every bit of income that comes into our household is budgeted, I was now required to have an extra $80 available on short notice. My children have already gone a whole school year without the glasses that we suspect they needed, so canceling to re-budget only risked them having to go another year waiting for another appointment. Upon arrival, I voiced the issue to the receptionist, and she explained how to waive it on the paperwork, and that was that. When my daughter was brought to the Optos machine, the technician started positioning her first before saying "I know you guys opted out of Optos today, but we’re just going to go ahead and do it; we just won’t schedule any future appointments." The message was clear: comply, or find another provider. There was no opening to discuss the issue further. It’s my standpoint that if they are not interested in understanding my position, then it was clearly not worth my energy to pursue. Dr. Butler was polite and knowledgeable, and we were appreciative that he was gentle and patient with our children. However, he made the comment a couple times "let the next guy know" referring to the next doctor, which only solidified their position that our welcome was limited to this day (again, crystal clear on that part). Although this bill was an inconvenience to my budget, I would have likely paid it, had there been the effort to discuss it. The staff’s inability to acknowledge and show understanding clearly intended to devalue us as customers. Aside from the issue, our experience was subpar. I value quality customer service. The receptionist was polite and upbeat. I could tell that she was not comfortable with the discussion coming in, but she handled it professionally. My partner interacted with the brunette technician that helped my youngest, and she was pleasant and easy with my daughter. The blonde one that I was dealing with for my oldest, I didn't appreciate her short, clipped tone, especially when that energy was noticed by my sensitive daughter who felt very uncomfortable and was beginning to shut down. We felt rushed while they were choosing the glasses, but I'm going to stay neutral and withhold my opinion there and assume it was because that section appeared quite busy. Look, the only issue was not being given appropriate notice of the add-on fees. I’m not disputing that it’s a valid charge. My opinion is that in situations like this, some sort of grace is necessary, especially when the present economy already has our wallets in a chokehold. I hope that my other complaints were JUST the domino effect of our family not being welcome, and not how the office normally functions. I expect this office to invalidate my experience and be deemed a “Karen” who didn’t get her way. Oh well; let it be as it will be. I only hope my experience might help prepare someone else for what they may experience at this office.
