As a 16 year old in 2023, storming out frusrated with the head doctor at the moment Dr.Sanchez- He chose to ambush me as a taller thicker man, closing me inside the activity room with him forcibly with his knee. We yelled in eachothers faces for probably only an minute while all the PCT peeked in the doors window simply confused. When he let me out the room, I stormed off sobbing at him "I don't want to talk to you" while he yelled something back about being the one who decided when I got discharged. I never interacted with him again after that. It wasn't years later I realized what took place was completely inappropriate, and not just an annoying interaction. From the start tension arose between me and him because he was dismissive, and cold, and I was an unstable 16 year old. If you're working with children from all sorts of broken roots, I expect you to work more catiously. My therapist provided was unethical as well, although it's too personal to disclose. Admitedly my therapy experience has been much better in the adult care unit.

This place is terrible. I was a patient here, and being held in this facility did nothing to help my mental health—in fact, it made things worse. When admitted, they made me sign documents without explaining what I was signing, taking advantage of people who are not in the right state of mind. Earlier this month, I hit an extreme low where I no longer saw the point in life. A friend called EMS, and I was brought here. Upon arrival, they took everything from me—my phone, wallet, and clothes—leaving me with nothing but my underwear. The staff was unhelpful and uncommunicative. The nurses never gave straight answers, constantly lying about when the doctor would see me. They would say "five minutes," but the doctor would either take much longer or never show up at all. The facility itself is isolating—there are no clocks or windows, so you have no sense of time, which only worsens your mental state. At one point, I reached a breaking point, and it took nine security guards to restrain me. One particular guard was especially rude and condescending; she should not be allowed to work with patients. To make matters worse, they don’t allow visitors. If your loved ones try to visit, they will be turned away, cutting you off from any outside support. Do not bring your struggling loved ones here. The staff does not care about the mentally ill, and this facility will only worsen their condition.

Terrible facility to send anyone you care about. The directors love to point fingers but they’re who you need to actually speak with. This facility only cares for the money, not the treatment of anyone. If you ask for the Chief of Nursing, they will say they don’t know. Her name is Erica Dusseldorp.

This is one of thee most unprofessional facilities I have ever encountered. From the phone operator to the doctors are extremely rude, very unprofessional, everyone has an attitude they are not informative or helpful. When you do call they act like your bothering them, The 8th floor is the worst you can’t even understand what there saying because of there accents but then there rude, they yell tell you they don’t care. I’ve actually had to call the state on this place.

Worse hospital for mentally ill patients. They never answer the phone have any information on the loved one. The person who answers the phone never get you to the right doctor. Then the messages you leave are ignored. This place is supposed to be helping out people instead they make them more crazy so they can increase their stay. I understand nyc gave out so many stimuluses that their broke. And they have to recoup the money best way they know how. But with our loved ones no it has to get better. Just because people are mentally challenged does not mean they do not have people who love them!
