One of the best exam and eyeglasses shopping experiences I have had yet. I was able to schedule my appointment for eyeglasses and contacts exam easily. The exam was very thorough and efficient due to the patience of all GVS customers involved. I was assisted in every step to ensure I was comfortable and picking a frame that best suited my face shape and style. I will only be coming to GVS for my optical needs! Every style is unmatched at this location!

Had a wonderful experience here! All the staff was kind and professional, and there was not a long wait for the exam. I had my baby with me and everyone was so sweet entertaining her while I got my vision exam done.

I’m going to be honest if I can report this facility I will. I came here today for a yearly exam for contacts and glasses and for concerning symptoms with my eyes I have been dealing with lately. I am absolutely disgusted with how I was treated. For context when it was time for me to obtain my prescriptions with the front desk upon finishing my exam I was asked if I’d like to look at lenses today I said sure I’ll have a look. Automatically the sales rep was recommending and hanging me designer lenses I told her a few times I am not able to pay designer price at the moment and I’m not into designer and only want a pair that I’m happy with. Whenever I tried to look at or try on a pair of glasses that were non designer the sales rep automatically said no no those don’t look good I then asked if there were any fully covered by my insurance and she continued to say yes there are they are over in the corner but you won’t like any. Which isn’t an assumption she should make. I look at them and actually liked one and she refused to let me get them because she clearly wanted me to pay I started to feel uncomfortable so I kindly said I appreciate your help but I’ll come back and she said why what’s wrong so I said to her the lense you suggested you said are $900 which is more than I’m able to spend at the moment and then she goes well how much can you spend which isn’t okay to ask. She then didn’t want to accept my answer politely when I said that I do not want to purchases a pair today so she got a woman from the back who they then spoke about me and my financial status in front of my face which was not okay. They kept coming to me hounding me saying they will give it to me for $875 or $800 then $700 again I said no thank you nicely. I then go to ask for my prescriptions from the front desk worker who seems to also not have a clue what is happening and he said have a seat he will be with me soon. It felt like a while passed so I got up and said hi do you know why my prescriptions are taking long and he said oh I forgot! Then he gives me them but fist takes white out and erases part of the glasses Rx and Rx on my prescription for contacts. So I realize the two measurements for my glasses were missing so I said hi can I please have the measurements I need to purchase glassses and when he brought them to the sales woman she had an attitude and said no she didn’t want to pay and buy from us she doesn’t get the measurements! She kept making comments about my finances and how if I wanted to just spend cheap money I should expect cheap glasses with thick frames. Very disappointed very disrespectful and I have never in my life felt more hassled and more embarrassed in my life. I have been coming to gvs for years in other locations never have I bee treated this way but I will say I’ll never support them again. I’m upset I wasted my yearly exam here as.i am extremely angry and now I have to pay elsewhere because they won’t give me my measurements. Oh and I asked her I said so why can’t I have the measurements she goes we don’t measure for that here so I then said so if I purchase glasss from you how do you get the measurements she then goes oh we will just measure you so clearly they only cater to people who buy glasses from them. My insurance paid them I have every entitlement to get access to a full prescription I have never felt more disgusted in my life. And when I voiced my opinion they shrugged and didn’t care at all. What a disgusting place and nasty way to treat people

Do not go to general vision on Richmond Ave. They are Nasty and are not responsible for anything they said. I came in for glasses with my insurance and I called ahead to ask if they can duplicate from the lenses I already have they said yes. Now I come in and they are saying they never said that and won’t be responsible if there’s a problem. I said if you are putting my glasses under the lensometer and the machine basically reads itself so you are responsible for the lenses. And as for the manager telling me that they don’t take DC37 which she thought I had it’s right on her wall stating they do indeed take DC37 so that’s a lie!

I had an appointment scheduled for 11:45 AM and arrived early at 11:38 AM. Unfortunately, I didn’t leave the office until 1:30 PM. The exam was split into two parts. Initially with a technician and then with the doctor. After completing the first part of the exam, I was asked to wait in the front lobby. At that time, I was the only patient in the office. I observed the doctor, Dr. Aviela, come to the front and engage in a conversation with the front desk staff in what appeared to be their native language for at least 15 minutes, laughing as if she was at lunch with a friend. Despite clearly seeing me waiting, she made no effort to acknowledge me or provide any update on the delay. After approximately 15 minutes, she finally called me back. On the way, I asked if the delay was due to her finishing her conversation or if there was another reason. She claimed she had been waiting on paperwork, which I believe was untrue, especially since I saw the technician assist another patient during that time. Having worked in an optical office myself, I know that a tech wouldn’t proceed with another patient without properly closing out the prior one, particularly when the office isn’t busy. The one bright spot was Annette, who was kind, professional, and did her best to acknowledge and make up for the long wait. However, by that point, the experience had already left a negative impression. I chose not to purchase glasses and will not be returning. I do not recommend this location. If you value your time and expect to be treated with basic respect as a customer, I suggest going elsewhere.
