The original optometrist retired a year and a half ago, he was fantastic, but I've had an insanely frustrating and disappointing experience with the new ownership. I've been back to the office about six times - What was supposed to be an easy swap out of my old lenses for new ones turned into a disaster. The office manager, Kris, swapped my lens materials for polycarbonate without telling me first, when I had an issue with the material and went back to the office to get it sorted out, Kris didn't believe me and instead made adjustments to my frames without telling me. I went home with glasses that were unwearable, they were so uncomfortable now that I couldn't keep them on for more than 20 minutes. I'd worn the same glasses for three years prior. He told me it was because of a 'drastic change' in my (minor) prescription and to give it a week. I was still having a problem with the lenses and now my original frames, so I went back the following day to get the lenses changed out for plastic. The Optician Sergio is lovely, he tried to fix the issue with my frames and agreed that it was a lens issue. They ordered the plastic lenses and I came back to get them. When I got them back, the frames were still unwearable, I think Kris changed the angle that the lenses sit at, so it's put pressure on my ears and nose. I was still having issues with the lenses, so I went back again to get it sorted out. Another employee tried to fix the angle of the lenses, and while it was better, I still can't wear my glasses. They ended up tearing skin on the back of my ear when I tried to make them work. I'm super frustrated because not only are the lenses STILL making me dizzy and nauseous (they suggested stepping back my prescription and 'working me up' to what Dr. Saunders prescribed instead of checking to see if the prescription was off), and now my frames are ruined. Every time I came back, the staff were more insistent that I just needed to give it time, but it's been over a week now and nothing has improved. I'm out 350 in total, and I've just given up. I went elsewhere, got a different prescription, new glasses, and I won't be coming back.

Everyone was nice, however, my prescription for new glasses has been wrong 3 times. I ve returned my glasses 3 times to have fixed and still wrong. I ve worn glasses for over 30 years and never had a bad prescription for glasses til now. I went to get my glasses the 3rd time n immediately knew they were still wrong as words across the room were blurry. When I stated this, the lady behind the counter told me to "stand up n look again." Stand up, really! I have zero faith that this office can get my lenses correct and now I m out 200 bucks for glasses I can t wear. I will NOT be going back next year. Complete waste of time money.
Dr. Saunders is truly an incredible Optician. He's very kind, courteous, and professional, and exceptionally knowledgeable. The staff is exact same way. I highly recommend Desert Vision Optometry, without hesitation.
Dr. Marisol Hernandez is both highly professional and very personable. She carried out a thorough eye exam for my prescription, listening carefully to my concerns and needs. She was very patient throughout the appointment, taking the time to answer all my questions. I truly appreciated that. It was my first time choosing progressive lenses, and thanks to Dr. Hernandez's precise prescription, the lenses made at Desert Vision Optometry fit me perfectly. I adapted to them within just three days. I’d also like to mention Shawna—she was amazing! So positive and helpful while I was choosing frames. I didn’t like my first choice—I was really upset when I got home with my new glasses and realized that I didn't like the frame. I wasn’t sure if anything could be done in this situation, but next day I came back and to my surprise, they offered to insert my prescription lenses into a new frame for free. This time I was very picky, but Shawna was incredibly patient and supportive. Thanks to her, I found a frame I absolutely love now. I’ll definitely be returning to Desert Vision Optometry for my next pair of glasses.
Everyone is highly professional and genuinely friendly. They offer a wide variety of glasses, including many unique styles. This is definitely the place to go if you need an eye exam or are looking for a new pair of glasses.
