We have been going to this practice for many years . We are in total 3 patients at and My elderly MIL needed to be seen and was only offered an appt for September . I explained to the receptionist if she could be seen earlier. No offer to put her on a call List in case of cancellation and when she did and I explained to her to please have them call me like it is in her paperwork no nothing . Got an ok and bye. Called back an and spoke to another person and told them I am going to cancelled the appt going to another practice . Another ok. Don’t care for our business so taking it elsewhere. Have lost their customer care and I guess don’t care to retain their customers.

To begin, this review should not reflect at all on the surgeon. The surgeon is highly respected in her field and has been nothing but professional, helpful, and cooperative. This review is on the facility and the policies of the staff. Previously I had surgery at Georgia Ophthalmologists in Covington on June 2nd. All went well, but apparently a stitch pulled loose which would require corrective surgery at a later date. I scheduled the surgery for July 8th only to be informed a few days later despite accepting my insurance for the first surgery, someone with Georgia Ophthalmologists decided arbitrarily that they would not accept my insurance coverage the second time around. I was told it was because something had changed with my insurance. I performed a deep dive into my coverage and determined that explanation to be false. Due to the travel time to the next closest facility served by the surgeon, and having to schedule an appointment at a later date which would cause issues for my customers, I chose to pay $1200.00 out of pocket to stay with the July 8th appointment in Covington. Thursday July 2nd I was told that I was scheduled for a late morning 10:30 AM arrival to have the minor surgery performed. With it being scheduled late and anticipating delays I consumed roughly 10 ounces of liquid early in the morning on July 8th. On the morning of July 8th during the preop procedures, I was questioned by the anesthesiologist and when questioned about eating or drinking, I offered the truth. Mind you, it was right at noon when I was questioned. Well, they cancelled the surgery. Apparently, they place policy above the fact that they are dealing with human beings, and human beings require minimal hydration. The cancellation of course made me incredibly angry as it creates difficulty for my business and my customers when I schedule time off which basically shuts down my business. My customers had modified their schedules to accommodate my needs. On my way out of the building, I inquired about a refund for my out $1200.00 out of pocket payment. I was told to expect it within 3 to 5 business days. On Thursday July 10th I spoke to a paralegal with the attorney I keep on retainer. She advised me that if Georgia Ophthalmologists did not refund the payment, the attorney could handle the matter seeking compensation for the out of pocket costs, the money spent on the two Uber trips to and from the surgery center, and even lost business revenue associated with the cancelled appointment as well as attorney fees and court costs if incurred. On Saturday July 11th, I learned that the money spent out of pocket had been refunded in full. I sent my attorney’s office an email informing them that the matter had been settled. Know who you are dealing with before you step foot in this place. They are unpredictable and place their finances far above the well-being of a patient. I will never consider stepping foot into one of their locations. As of this writing, I still have an issue and will require corrective surgery at a future date.
I personnaly used to love this place and truly enjoy the doctors. However, getting an eye exam scheduled just turned into a nightmare but ended up in a better situation elsewhere. I have left two eye doctors because they will only let 2 family members of the same address come on the same day. How this gets messy is I have to pay, am the primary insured AND usually have to drive after the dilation. After attempting to talk to the office multiple times and email....was put on hold then hung up on, email was bounced back as undeliverable, then called and sent to a voicemail that randomly cut off in the first 30 seconds and disconnect. NEEDLESS TO SAY- America's Best here we come.
The doctor and his staff were great. The office staff is HORRIBLE! I have insurance coverage for a routine eye exam every 24 months under my health insurance. I explained this when appointments were made for me and my husband. I tried to explain it again when I went in for the appointments. They said I did not have coverage and that it would be $180 each. I paid thinking I would get it back once the insurance took care of it. They billed it as medical instead of routine eye exam. This is not covered. After speaking with my insurance company they called the office and then the billing department said they were in error. We will rebill and refund the money. This was fine for my services but they performed some type of imaging on my husband that is medical and his can’t be rebilled. So after the doctors office saying it was their fault it still costs me $180 for their error. Never will I use this office again And you use the same response for every review. If you had bothered to actually read my review you would know that I did speak with your staff twice and they still took my $180 even though they admit it is your error
I had an excellent surgery experience. The follow up, though was the PITS. Patients are scheduled so tightly that it’s apparently no big deal for someone to wait TWO HOURS, with no check in or apology, or even an acknowledgement.Today was the 2nd wait over 1.5 hours or more, and I won’t darken the door again. Totally unprofessional.
