Gulf Coast Vision Center – East Hill

I've now been twice. First visit for my five year old, which was mostly OK, but we ended up waiting for a long time, perhaps 30 minutes in multiple back rooms, before we were apparently placed in the correct one and given the correct vision test for him. So he had to get two exams essentially. He's patient and it worked out - the doctor was friendly and we got his first eye exam done smoothly enough. Next, I made an appointment for myself a month or two in advance. I arrive 15 minutes early, fill out the necessary paperwork and proceed to wait a total of 45 minutes before I had to leave and get back to work. The staff were friendly, but when I checked after 20 minutes if I should come back another day, I was told I was next and that the doctor is alone today. Ok, stuff happens. Another 20+ minutes and I politely ask again if it's going to be much longer - I'm told that I should reschedule if I can't wait longer today, which is fair. But please, have some respect for your clients and be honest with them. Manage expectations and tell them up front if things are backed up and it might be better to reschedule. To be clear, the front office staff were kind and responsive to my questions. It's just an operation that isn't run efficiently - my advice would be to look elsewhere.

So incredibly grateful for this team. I started having issues with one of my eyes and they were able to get me in quickly. Candy is such an asset. She is so knowledgeable and took fantastic care of me. She listened to me and made me feel seen. Dr. Tipton is so kind and did everything to make sure I was comfortable with our plan to move forward with corrective lenses. So glad someone recommended them and I have a great care team in my corner.

Really enjoyed our visit yesterday. The staff is incredibly kind and patient, especially Kandy! She made the experience really smooth and enjoyable and relaxing. Highly recommend!

My eye examination was conducted by Candy, Lauren, and Maryna, whose expertise and attentiveness were exemplary. They were thorough, informative, and made the entire process smooth and comfortable. They have replaced the dreaded air puff test with a new, non-invasive equipment, eliminating the anxiety that usually comes with eye exams. This advanced approach not only made me feel more at ease but also showcased the practice's commitment to staying at the forefront of optometric technology. The highlight for me was the impressive array of eyewear on display. It felt like stepping into a showroom, with a diverse range of brands and styles to choose from. This selection, along with the expert guidance provided, made the task of finding the perfect pair of glasses a delightful experience. Lastly, I must commend the staff for their immaculate upkeep of the location. The cleanliness and attention to detail resonated with the historical and aesthetic significance of the East Hill area, contributing to a sense of pride and care in their service.
