I usually have a great experience at this office, especially with Dr. Wineholt. She is always kind, listens carefully, and takes her time to understand what I’m going through. Unfortunately, my most recent visit with a different provider, Dr. Cunningham, was very disappointing. I felt dismissed and not taken seriously while trying to explain ongoing issues I’ve been dealing with. I sometimes have difficulty explaining things clearly, so my fiancé comes with me to help, but when he tried to clarify, he was shut down and I was told I needed to speak for myself. I explained that he helps me communicate better, but that was not respected. During the exam, when pressure was applied to my stomach, I said multiple times that it hurt, but I felt like I was being ignored. I also tried to bring up concerns that I’ve had for years, but they were quickly dismissed without much consideration. By the end of the appointment, I felt unheard and frustrated. The paperwork I received afterward also contained incorrect information. Overall, this visit was upsetting and very different from the level of care I’m used to at this office.

Received a letter recently that my provider was leaving and was told that I needed to find a new practice. I'm on my 3rd provider in 6 years @ the Cortland Health Center. Every other time, I was transferred to a new provider. This time, I'm told I need to find a new practice. 30 days notice was given via letter sent USPS. No portal notice, no phone call. My fiancee also sees the same provider. He did not receive a letter and only found out because I told him. My portal still shows my appointments scheduled for May by the provider that's leaving in April. Cortland Health Center dropped the ball BIG TIME on this one. Other medical facilities in Cortland are saying they're getting bombarded with phone calls from patients frantically looking for new providers because of this. I understand that situations happen, but the way Cortland Health Center handled this is just plain wrong. Shame on them for putting hundreds of people in a terrible situation. Honesty goes a long way and if they were just transparent from the beginning, things would have been very different. Current patients of Cortland Health Center, be warned that this establishment has zero loyalty to their patients and are willing to drop you with very little warning. Do Better Cortland Health Center.
I was concerned when I heard that my physician, Dr. Digiovanna was retiring. There was no reason to be worried. Charles Eaton has all the qualities of Dr. D, patience, kindness, knowledge, and compassion. My plan of care is on my terms, not his. I'm very pleased with this provider.
Staff is lovely, almost zero waiting time, lots of follow-up and help with scheduling labs, etc…, freedom to schedule “sick” appts with a PA if needed. Ashley Barnard has a wonderful bedside manner and listens carefully, Dr. Cunningham very thorough and compentent. The gentleman in the in-house blood lab is kind, professional and gentle. My highest praise goes to the support staff, who are very patient and attentive on phone calls for scheduling, etc… My whole family is seen here by 4 different practitioners.
Three stars is only because I liked my doctor, but getting an appointment is painful. I've called multiple times and been put on hold forever to the point they forget. Once I arrive the receptionists are so rude. One more than the rest. Dark haired one. Wouldn't even make eye contact with me. Now my doctor left so now I have too. Used to be a friendly place. Not anymore.
