My visit today to Haywood Family Eye Care was excellent. The entire staff, as well as Dr. Pinkston, were very helpful, professional, and knowledgeable. My husband and I live in Miami and have a second home here in Waynesville. Since our first visit with Dr. Pinkston, we have been extremely impressed with both his expertise and his warm, caring personality. Thank you to Dr. Pinkston and the entire team for your continued outstanding care, support, and service. We truly appreciate all that you do. Jose and Emma Sardiña

This is a very nice place to go to! Everyone is very nice and friendly! I feel like I get the best of care for my eyes! They are very fast to get you placed in your room for the doctor! No long wait time!
Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Optometrist and support staff had a great manner and explained processes and answered all of my questions. Optician support was great. Explained all of my charges, did all of my insurance filing and even thought I did not buy glasses, they were very supportive. All in all, a very positive experience.
We LOVE our eye doctor and the front desk staff is also wonderful. We consider them 5 star. I rated 3 star as an average for the 2 star salespeople here. They funnel you out (through the gift shop) after your appointment and make it very confusing to get an actual price on glasses. After I asked 3 different ways how much eyeglasses would cost, the saleswomen just kept throwing out percentages that insurance covers, and not being straightforward about out-of-pocket costs. We mentioned purchasing glasses online since we weren’t sure if the glasses here would be $200 or $2,000 and she immediately said it’s not possible to figure out size and blah blah blah. Aside from the annoying and pushy sales tactic we will continue to go here because we love our doctor and front desk staff. Just be ready for the pushy for a sale and otherwise helpless salespeople. We ended up going to Walmart for frames and lenses. They made it easy, straightforward, and inexpensive for designer frames.
I’ll be honest going in and having any help with a pair of sunglasses that I had gotten a year ago was very appreciative and i was honest that i was just lazy in not coming in but told them that as soon as I put them on, I realized that they were fuzzy/blurry a bit, not real serious, but if I had worn them for more than five minutes, I started to get a headache. So I was thinking a different prescription was in my sunglasses, but it took me a year to get back and they checked it and realized they did put the wrong prescription in but only offered me 25% off to get my lenses replaced when it was their fault, I think the 30 or 60 day rule should be thrown out or at least given me half off. I I agree I was at fault for waiting so long, and if it wasn’t their fault, I would have accepted them not doing anything with it being their fault I think that 50-50 would’ve been reasonable, when i found out I’d still have to pay hundreds of dollars to fix the sunglass mistake I had told her that maybe I should just shop around some more first and asked for my prescription.
