Henry Ford Optimeyes

My family and I have been patients here for years, and the doctors and clinical staff have always been excellent. Unfortunately, today's experience with the receptionist was completely unacceptable. The receptionist was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional toward my mother from the moment we arrived. She made my mother repeat her name multiple times and responded with a condescending attitude throughout the interaction. Her facial expressions and tone made it clear that she was annoyed and unwilling to provide basic courtesy or respect. To make matters worse, we were informed of scheduling issues that apparently resulted from appointment dates being changed or communicated poorly, leaving us with the inconvenience of having to come back again. No one had properly informed us, and instead of helping resolve the situation professionally, the receptionist treated us as though we were the problem. I will not tolerate staff speaking to my family in such a disrespectful manner. Patients deserve to be treated with dignity, especially long-time patients who have trusted this office for years. The doctors may provide excellent care, but one rude and unprofessional front-desk employee can seriously damage the patient experience. I hope management addresses both the communication failures and the receptionist's attitude so that other families do not have to go through the same experience.

5/30- It was my son's first eye exam and the GPS took us all over the place. I called in to let them know we were 5 mins out. I forgot the guys name, but he answered and was kind. Assured me that it would be OK and that he would let them know. Upon arrival, I stopped at a reception desk where I was greeted by two women with smiles. Also, let them know about the GPS and they both shared stories with me. It was very welcoming and I felt at ease. We went and sat in the reception area and less than 5 mins later we were called back by kind women. They were smiling and laughing and made my son and I feel right at home. They were kind, the doctor was kind and the guy that assisted us was kind as well. From arrival to departure, was a great experience. So great that I changed my location to Troy instead of Royal Oak for my exam. This has become my home. Thank you to everyone. You all are awesome!!!!

They are very helpful, polite, knowledgeable people who care about their customers. A person in particular who has outstanding customer service was “Kiera Johnson” she went above and beyond to help me out with my 2 children getting their glasses fixed and we appreciate her for helping us!

I was very happy and relaxed with my Eye Exam Visit. The Tech was very Nice and Friendly, and I felt relaxed. The Doctor was Very Gentle and Friendly. I was really Nervous, but both of them helped me relax. I was surprised I didn’t have to wait to get in the Exam Room. They took me in directly, after I signed in. All In All, I was very satisfied with my visit. The young lady who helped me with finding the right pair of Glasses was also helpful. Thank You!

I’ve been coming to Henry Ford Optim Eyes for many years and have always had a positive experience. Dr. Balcueva is fabulous and always gives exceptional care to his patients. I also can’t say enough good things about Andrew Gerard, Team Leader, Optical Dispenser and Fancy Sevphens and of course Eric Schmidt, Manger and Michelle Solomon. I needed a recheck and they all were very professional, courteous, and incredibly understanding without any judgment. They took care of me every step of the way, and I couldn’t ask for a better team around me. Thank you, Henry Ford OptimEyes and especially Dr. Balcueva for always going above and beyond to make every visit, easy and comfortable. And, for the excellent care always provided to me.
