They are very aggressive with trying to upsell you and hold on to business. The lady from the front spent the entire appointment trying to upsell services following us around and didn’t quit even after I made it clear we would only be getting our prescriptions for eye glasses today because they didn’t have any glasses in their ridiculously over priced selections that we liked or even want to spend the money on. We’re talking Beverly Hills prices on lenscrafter from 2000s selections. I wanted to leave within 15 minutes here and they basically made it so uncomfortable and intimidating that we ended up stuck here for over 2hrs! I felt like I was being profiled because of my appearance because they hovered around us the entire visit and just had an attitude of suspicion directed at me start to finish. It took everything for me to keep from losing it and storming out of here because I didn’t want to cause a big scene in front of my child but seriously all the other negative reviews on google are 100% correct! The staff is very over assertive and almost intimidating in their conduct the instant you push back on any suggestion subject or topic I thought this place had changed when I heard about them having new owners after a negative experience here similar to all this I had here years ago but they have not changed one bit. We only came here because my insurance coverage no longer covered our previous optometrist. They seriously need to have every one here attend some courses on customer service, customer support, attitude, and professional conduct. The whole visit felt overwhelming and like they expected us to worship them. Just over all intimation style sales and business model and a toxic experience. Their prices are ridiculous! I could buy 5 pairs of glasses online with no insurance for my portion of a single pair of their cheapest option in store and that would be my portion after they bill my insurance the maximum. Just overall a very overpriced place with very poor attitude staff. We appreciate they fitted us in so quickly but I will not be subjecting myself or my daughter to this place again. I will acknowledge the doc was the nicest of the staff but I felt dismissed and belittled by him after a bringing up a unique situation like he didn’t believe me like I don’t know my own eyesight issues

Been getting glasses here for years and they obviously get their wear and tear so I went to go see James who is very great to see if he can do anything to get them a little more sturdy and like a wizard doing magic he was able to bring them back to life! I felt like I got a new pair so I’m glad if something is able to be done on you and your glasses they do it here. Very friendly never a bad experience here
I needed an adjustment to my sunglasses that I wear when playing golf--they fit too tight. The staff was super friendly and helpful and did just what I needed.
Very disappointed with this practice. They attempted to charge $800 for Atropine, a prescription medication my daughter has been on for years and that normally costs us about $40 per quarter ($160 per year). Additionally, they charged $90 for contact lens fitting without clearly discussing the cost beforehand. When I explained that our previous practice charged much less and that we would not proceed with their fitting—or take sample lenses—the staff asked my daughter to remove the contact lenses she was already wearing and would not allow her to leave with them on simply because we declined their fitting service. These lenses would have been discarded anyway, but they wouldn't let her leave the practice with them on. Overall, the experience felt focused on aggressive billing rather than patient care. Transparency, professionalism, and respect were lacking. I would not recommend this practice EDIT- Response to Hidden Vally's comment below I did not REFUSE to pay. I explicitly asked James whether I would owe the $90 charge for a 10-day supply of trial lenses if we chose not to take them. He told me no, and we didn't take the trial lenses. As we were leaving, I asked again whether there was any outstanding balance, and James again said no. To now state that I refused to pay for services received and left is simply inaccurate. Additionally, the pre-determined fees by my insurance require a patient contribution of 10% of the amount billed. Hidden Valley chose to bill my insurance $900 for a 10-day supply of trial lenses—an amount I have never encountered at any eye care practice. Your so-called “evidence-based medicine” recommendation was MiSight contact lenses. The manufacturer’s own website states that MiSight lenses are evidence-based for myopia control in children ages 8–12 at the initiation of treatment. My daughter is 14 years old. Clearly, this recommendation was not based on what was appropriate for her, but on what was financially beneficial for your practice. The fact that your staff asked a minor to remove lenses from her eyes (lenses that would have been discarded anyway) speaks volumes about the lack of integrity of your practice.
This practice rocks! Everyone that I dealt with took the time to explain everything. The doctor was very thorough and explain things in detail. When it came time to pick frames out, the gentleman did an awesome job explaining the benefits and downfalls of each frame. These guys do a very good job! If you’re looking for a practice, Hidden Valley Eye Care would be a great choice!
