They talk bad about their patients out loud in the office to eachother where everyone can hear. It was hurtful to hear some of the things they said about me specifically when waiting for the doctor. Mind you, I’m only posting this in regards to the hyndman office. I bet the other offices have some respect toward their patients.
This was my first visit and I was pleasantly pleased. I did have to wait past my appointment time but I really expected that since I had a 3:15. I realize that as the day goes they do get behind so it wasn't a big deal. My Doctor recently moved back to this practice and I really like him so it was worth the wait. The office is very clean and modern and the Staff were very nice and helpful. This was a check up so I was not suffering an illness but even those that appeared to be having an issue never seemed to complain. I am sure this will sound bad but I was impressed that such a nice medical center was at home in Hyndman, PA. Cumberland and LaVale certainly have some competition. It was about a 20 minutes drive from LaVale and not a bad drive. When I transferred my records the Staff was very helpful and sent me my new patient paperwork in the mail so I wouldn't have to mess with it when I got there. I am sure in the future my rating will go up and hey everyone has a bad day.
Update as of Tuesday, 9/15/26. Posted hours are listed as closing at 7:00pm. A family member arrived at 5:56pm needing immediate medical care and the entire location was closed. The only vehicle in the parking lot was the HAHC van. Misinformed and need to update accurate information with regards to accepting new patients. My dental insurance states that HAHC is accepting new patients, however, the receptionist who took my call from the dental office stated they were not and was extremely rude about it.
I go to Hyndman Family Health Center for my pcp as well as dental and for the most part the staff has been kind and understanding, although I wish that my dental work could have been done in a more time efficient manner I appreciate that they were willing to do the work I needed in order to save some of my teeth, most other dentist advised me to “just get them all pulled” I recommend them do anyone who is looking for a good pcp or dentist and what’s even better is they do things to help the community including bringing a mobile dental unit to Johnstown area because they know how difficult it is to get in to a dentist.
