We cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Patterson and the after-hours care he provided our daughter over Labor Day weekend. We were visiting Emerald Isle, arriving on Saturday evening when our daughter’s eye became swollen and red, and she was experiencing significant pain and light sensitivity. We Googled local vision care offices and left an after-hours message with Beaufort Vision Clinic, fully expecting that we might have to head home first thing in the morning and figure things out from there. To our great relief, Dr. Patterson personally called us back. He immediately reassured us, gave us clear guidance on what we could do that evening, and told us he would see her in the morning if needed. What impressed us most was that he didn’t just leave it there—he checked in with us the next morning (on a Sunday morning over a holiday weekend) to see how she was doing and offered to meet us at his office when he learned she wasn’t improving. He thoroughly examined and diagnosed her, prescribed the medication she needed, and went above and beyond by lending her both eyeglasses and sunglasses to wear since she couldn’t wear her contacts. His kindness, compassion, and genuine concern made an understandably stressful situation so much easier for our family. We are incredibly thankful that we happened to reach out to such a caring, thoughtful, and dedicated doctor. Dr. Patterson truly went above and beyond, and we will always remember his kindness. We highly recommend him and are so grateful for the exceptional care he gave our daughter!
