I’m leaving five stars because I know how much a star rating can impact a small business, and my intention isn’t to hurt the practice. I simply wanted to share constructive feedback.
I had a frustrating experience trying to become a new patient. Before calling, I verified that this office was listed as an in-network provider through my insurance, and the office website also indicated they accepted my insurance.
When I called to schedule, I specifically asked if they accepted my insurance. The representative wasn’t sure, placed me on hold, and then came back saying they didn’t take it. When I explained that they were listed as an in-network provider by both my insurance and on their own website, the only response I got was, “Yeah, I just don’t know.”
It was frustrating because the answer should have been clear, either you accept the insurance or you don’t. If the information online is incorrect, it should be updated. If the office does accept it, staff should be properly trained to verify coverage.
Unfortunately, because no one could give me a clear answer, I chose to schedule with another office instead. It was a missed opportunity to gain a new patient, and I hope they improve their staff training and keep their insurance information up to date.
