As a loyal customer of over ten years, I’m deeply disappointed with the service I recently received at Jackson Davenport. I came in with the intention of purchasing glasses specifically for computer work, requesting a focal length suitable for arm’s length viewing. However, when I picked them up, I realized the focal point was far too short forcing me to sit uncomfortably close to the screen, about 12 inches away.
Expecting a reasonable solution given it had only been a few days since pickup, I was surprised to be told I’d need to pay additional fees and undergo another exam. I had already spent over $300, and now the glasses are essentially useless to me.
This isn’t the first time I’ve been disappointed. Two years ago, I purchased two pairs—one for work and a pair of $300 sunglasses for the beach. After wearing the sunglasses just once, they became so badly scratched they were unwearable. When I mentioned this, the doctor explained they weren’t meant to be worn near sand. Strangely, my regular glasses have lasted for years without a scratch, despite heavier use.
In total, I’ve spent over $600 here, and I now find myself with two pairs of glasses I can’t use. Something has clearly changed, and sadly, so has my trust. I will no longer be returning to Jackson Davenport and strongly encourage others to consider alternative providers for their eye care needs. I dont hide behind an alias so Jackson Davenport can check me out in their computer if they feel the need.
