One star is generous. After leaving another optical office, I called Visionworks hoping to schedule an appointment or at least speak with someone about my options. Instead, I sat on hold listening to the hold music for several minutes, only for the call to be disconnected. No one answered. No one called me back. Nothing. If you’re too busy to take calls, that’s understandable but hanging up on potential customers without any follow-up is a poor first impression and not how customer service should be handled. It took less time for another optical provider to answer my questions, schedule an eye exam, and get me fitted for new glasses than it did to get through to someone here. Based on my experience, I won’t be trying again.

We had Bridget help us today in the store and she was fantastic! Super sweet and helpful. She is a main reason why we will be back. It is hard finding good customer service these days but she did it right!

I wish I could give more than 5 stars—this is easily a 10-star experience. Dr. Bettina Gary at Visionworks in Rock Hill has been absolutely outstanding. On three separate occasions, my son broke his glasses, and each time I went back, she took care of us without hesitation. What really stood out is that she had the exact frame available every single time—no delays, no hassle, just solutions. On the third visit, she let me know it was the last one in stock but immediately reassured me that she would gladly order another pair if needed. That level of attention and follow-through is rare. Beyond that, she is genuinely friendly, personable, and makes you feel like you matter—not just another customer walking through the door. If you’re looking for someone who takes pride in what they do and consistently goes the extra mile, Dr. Gary is it. Highly recommend.

This place is a joke. There are three different sets of business hours: Their website, Their Google business profile, And what’s actually posted on the door. Several other reviews have commented that during business hours many times no one is here and the doors are locked. I came today to purchase another pair of glasses. Looks like that’s not happening. Apparently, the bar to be a franchisee with Visionworks is quite low

This Visionworks location is simply the BEST. Everyone is super sweet and knowledgeable, and they truly care about their customers. I had received a too-strong prescription (from an eye doctor unaffiliated with Visionworks), and I was met with nothing but patience and kindness as we worked together to figure out the best solution. I’ll be coming here for my eye exams from now on! The store is clean, the staff is welcoming, and there is a wide variety of frames to choose from. In general, Visionworks is an excellent option if you’re looking for accuracy and affordability. They always have some sort of deal on glasses, and they offer a 100-day guarantee for frame replacement — if you don’t love your frames, bring them back within 100 days to get them replaced at no cost!
