If I could score 0, I would. I was called last evening to remind me of my 9 am appt with the optometrist Arum thoppe Subramanian. I was the first one checked in at 9 am. Two others checked in behind me with appts at 9 am also. My first visit to this Walmart, I filled out all the paperwork. Alba, the optometry tech was very nice. When anyone asked where the optometrist was, the answer was, he was on his way. At 945am, I went to the desk and asked where is he at, again, he's on his way. Now there is 8 people in the lobby and 3 of us had 9am appts. I told Alba I was leaving because I had another appt. She apologized. Then the Optometrist walks in. Non chalant. I told him my appt was at 9am and that I had to leave. He said ok! No apologies, no nothing, he could have cared less. This is patient abuse. Every one in his office deserves better. Walmart needs to make sure that the people they are renting space to are worthy of the space. My time is just as valuable as Arun. If you are thinking of going here, read the reviews first. Absolutely abhorrent customer service.

Dr. Subramanian was excellent. I called for a walk-in and they took me within 30 minutes. I’m extremely happy that he fitted me with contacts where I don’t have to use reader glasses to view things close up. No one had ever suggested one contact for distance and one for close-up. I love them!

Utterly unacceptable and blatantly inept. I had an appointment scheduled for 1 PM on a Friday, so I arrive 10 minutes early only to find the office locked. I tell the woman in the vision center the situation and she replies that the doctor and his tech probably aren't back from lunch. Maybe it's just me, but if I'm a doctor and have appointments coming in at 1 o'clock, I'd like to be in my office AT LEAST 10-15 minutes beforehand. So, me and about 6 other customers wait until the tech finally arrives about fifteen minutes after 1 PM. The doctor? STILL hasn't arrived. After filling out some paperwork, I receive my eye test from the tech and get lead to another room for my actual exam to be given by the doctor who has yet to appear. I wait ANOTHER 20-30 minutes sitting in the exam chair. When the doctor finally opens the door to the exam room, he's leading ANOTHER patient in, completely oblivious to the fact that I'm already in there. That's right, he had no idea I was even in the exam room waiting for him and I'm sure it's because the tech didn't even bother to tell him. I immediately left at that point, because the stupidity and mismanagement in the air was unbearably thick. When I expressed my dissatisfaction to the tech, she stood there as if customer complaints were just part of her day. On my way out, I passed a gentleman on his way in. I wished him, "Good luck," because dealing with this tardy, apathetic optometrist and his lethargic technician might require several horseshoes and an acre of four-leaf clovers. I'm glad I spent NO money here, but I did learn a valuable lesson; don't trust an optometrist's office that's 40 yards from corndogs under a heat-lamp inside a Walmart.

Don’t know why this location has 2 ⭐️ average. The Optometrist at Affordable Eye Exams, Arun Subramanian and his staff, were excellent. So was the staff at WalMart Vision Center. I’m going back for sure. Edit: visited this site 1.5 years later and still had the same great service and examination. There is a wait but it’s an eye doctor, every doctor visit has a wait. I’ll be back next year for another update!

Called them because my vision insurance listed them as a provider. She quickly told me no, hadn't heard of them (didn't take the time to check). I asked for the number for the University location, she said no I don't have it. I laughed and hung up. I think I was bothering her and she just wanted me off the phone. Go somewhere else. Edit: Recently (Nov. 2020) went to the University vision care center, where they immediately took my insurance and had my glasses ready in 3 days. Took time with me and were very personable. So go there instead.
