I’ve never had an experience like this at an optometry practice—where the doctor insists on giving you what *he* says you need, rather than listening to how your vision actually feels to you. I had to provide my previous prescription from another optometrist just to be able to see clearly again. So, I wouldn't recommend this place; the only good thing about it is the front-desk staff, who are very friendly. Also, don't bother booking an appointment via the screen; if you do decide to take the risk and go there, it's better to make the appointment in person.

I had been a long-time patient at other optometry offices for over 12 years and never experienced any issues with my prescriptions until this visit. I chose this office mainly because they offered a same-day appointment, which was convenient. However, I was not informed ahead of time that the optometrist would be virtual. I only found out once I was already in the exam room and an iPad was placed in front of me. By that point, my insurance had already been used, so I felt I had no real option to reschedule elsewhere. During the exam, I felt rushed and that my concerns were not properly addressed. I specifically mentioned that I could not see clearly out of my left eye with the new contact lens, and instead of working through the issue, I was told that I could just be given my old prescription. That was frustrating, as the whole reason for my visit was that my current prescription was no longer working for me. I’ve consistently needed updated prescriptions every year, and this was the first time I felt that effort wasn’t made to find an accurate one. When I received my new glasses based on this prescription, my vision was even more blurry than with my previous pair, confirming that something was not right. For reference I have been ordering glasses from the same place for the past 12 years. I requested a refund for the exam since I did not feel the service met standard expectations, but I was told that refunds are not provided and that my only option is to return for a recheck. At this point, I do not feel comfortable going back or spending more time trying to resolve this at the same office. I will be seeking care from another optometrist. Once I receive my new prescription, I plan to update this review and include a comparison between my 2025 prescription, the January 2026 prescription from this office, and the new one I receive, so others can clearly see the differences. Overall, this was a disappointing experience, and I hope this feedback helps improve communication and patient care for future visits.
👁️ came in with a screw loose, actually missing, and a green paper clip & Scotch tape fastening that fastener onto my specs, the original screw long since disappeared and all the tiny replacements mustered didn't fit the bill for a fix, so by the time we got to the eyewear department I was screwless, patched, taped, and had probably stripped that hinge pretty bad ~ to CostCo we went~ Ian recognized us, and began analysis, asked if we had some shopping to do and said a temp screw could be used and another frame ordered for pick up in a couple days, then to our amazement, when we returned a 1/2 hour later my prescription lenses were in a new identical frame, titianimum & all that Jazz, as a pair of the frames were used out of their stock and my glasses were all set. I came here because I often go to Costco for my glasses needs. It is located within the Rosedale location and you do not need a costco membership to have an appointment here! It's easy to pop in, get your eyes checked and get out! I would highly recommend this place for costco members as well because the glasses are super affordable and with good quality. Dr. Kelly Ly was a kind individual and took great care of me.
I was able to do a simple walk in appointment and Janelle was fantastic. She was professional and pleasant and was able to accommodate my exam without any issue. She is truly an asset to K vision optometry! She handled some equipment issues like a champ.
