Eye Dr's. are great at there job, staff are pretty good at doing there job. My only complaint that I have is your phone service is the worst, called 2 days in a row with no answer, only to be told they are busy with other customers and to leave a message. Left 2 messages and still never received a call back. I had to drive to make my appointment, mind you I don't live in Bakersfield. If your phone service does not improve, I'll be taking my needs elsewhere

This place is the worse. The front desk manager Vanessa is rude and wouldn't let me child go to his eye appt. This place will turn you away if you are just barely passed 5 mins late. I have to pull my son out of class and sometimes they take a while to get a runner to go grab him. We are across town as well so sometimes traffic is really bad. It's about a 20 min drive from us. They have turned us away for all kinds of stupid stuff. They won't budge like they are Nazis here and not friendly at all. I absolutely hate this place and I'm surprised they are in business. I guess they can treat people like that because there are not many eye doctors in town that take medi-cal. They act like they are better than. I've never encountered anyone here that's been nice. I called one time to check and see if my son was able to get an appt. His insurance says it has to be a year before he can get new glasses. I knew it had been almost 2 in a half years. This lady lied to me and said it had not been a year yet when she looked at his record. So I couldn't make the appt and had to wait. I told her that can't be right and she said well it is. I called the insurance and they told me yes it was way over a year and he is eligible. Trust the negative reviews and go somewhere where they have good attitudes and are professional. The glasses they provide suck as well.
When I first visited Dr. Eli, I was in extreme pain in my right eye after seeing three other doctors with no relief. He listened to my concerns calmly and patiently, in no rush, and encouraged me while explaining everything clearly. Today, at my final appointment, he was genuinely happy to hear that I am fully healed and took the time to answer all my questions. Dr. Eli is not only an excellent doctor and gentleman, but also a kind and compassionate soul. Truly exceptional care.
Very disappointing! Showed up for a new patient appointment my mom a 77 yr old disabled woman in a wheelchair. The lady checking her in says she needs ID and insurance. We hand it to her and she says the ID is expired by 5 years l, but if she has another iID like Costco card or passport or anything with her picture that would work, so I give her another one expired less than a year. Mind you they just need ID to verify who the patient is like they received a referral from her PCP and the aid from Costco with no Expiration date survives but not an expired government ID. Are you kidding me!! Well let me explain lots of elderly people don’t have ID. Some can’t get to the DMV and some simply can’t see hence why she was sent here. She can’t renew her SL because she can’t see dummies. But a Costco care works. Needless to say I am not only disappointed but I’d never recommend this place. I’m pretty sure 77 year old disabled women in wheelchairs don’t steal insurance cards to go for eye specialty care. Insurance does not request a copy of ID. Other places that receive referrals from PCPs don’t even ask for ID. This is a individual facility policy so if your old and can’t see and can’t renew your ID don’t go here unless you have a Costco card instead of your expired California DL which by the way requires a birth certificate to get. Simply stupid. I’ll be requesting a new referral elsewhere. Thanks ACE. You are a joke and your management sucks. Since I work next door, I will be glad to share my option with lots of other people in the community as I myself work in healthcare and know that she could have been seen. Go to Retina Institute of California. We should have went with the PCPs recommendation. This was my poor choice.
Julian Leal was very knowledgeable, and friendly, helping me choose the glasses best for me. He goes the extra mile to make sure you experience the best service, and leave a happy and satisfied customer.
