Dr. Brown and the medical staff are amazing! The front-end receptionists, not so much. I was guided to sit on one side of the very busy lobby after checking in on a kiosk, and did not hear my name called. My phone rang, and it’s the office. A receptionist (Val or something) tells me she’s been calling my name for a while. I, purposefully keeping an ear out, heard nothing. I walk over to where her desk is to check in. I ask if I have any co-payments due, since there are card readers at this desk. She looks at me, and says, I quote “I don’t know, you tell me if you have a co-pay”. Lady, you have my patient profile open in front of you! It just left a bad taste in my mouth as if she couldn’t care less. Today, over a week later, I open myChart to see an outstanding balance. A co-pay that I had asked about the day of, now showing that it is due immediately. I know that working in a doctor’s office is difficult and this location is particularly busy, but I think their customer service could be improved a bit.

I'd like to leave an appreciation review for the staff at Mercy Lutherville. I've been a patient for many years and my experience has been 95% positive. My hope is that Ms Y. Scurry will see this and know how much I truly appreciate her kindness, patience, concern for the time she gave me. In assisting me with getting my procedure scheduled. Every time I've spoken with Ms Scurry, she has a gentleness and calming and caring way of speaking to the patient's. With sincerity. She goes above and beyond! Thank you for all you do! For the patient's and your colleagues! Your are valuable! You are appreciated!

Thank you, Bridgette Hamby, RD for your compassionate, professional care. From the start, you created a supportive, judgment-free environment where I felt comfortable discussing GI concerns. You took time to understand my symptoms and gave clear, practical guidance on meal timing and fluids, including smaller portions, protein smoothies, and sipping throughout the day. These changes reduced my nausea, fullness, and bloating. I finally felt heard after previous concerns were dismissed as mental health-related. Your expertise as a registered dietitian in specialty gastroenterology at Mercy Medical Center restored my confidence and hope for effective treatment. I highly recommend her for compassionate, knowledgeable care in digestive health

If you go to the left after check in, there's three large sections you can approach. Each section has many windows listing doctors names. In that center section of windows to the left to approach for appointments four female staff members were rude to me; all very brief interactions, the last time I was there. The interactions felt belittling. One woman stood up and then seemed so incredibly surprised to see me. Really? *You're at your job* with a room full of what could be a hundred patients collectively sometimes and you're surprised there is somebody standing in front of you asking for information on a lower extremity orthopedic surgeon? This felt like racial tension. It was really unpleasant. One of them had a conversation with another mocking me as I searched for the right window to approach for an orthopedic surgeon. Be nice to everyone and be respectful Lutherville ladies in that center section. You seem to need to be told that because it doesn't seem to come natural to you. How about less immaturity ***and tension*** (Are you judging my color and then finding any and every way that you can to belittle me due to prior prejudice?) and more professionalism. I don't come here for the front desk staff and their nonsense, which is often terrible. Mercy hospital staff can be horrific too. I'm here for the doctors... despite what can be the terrible behavior of the staff.
