What a wonderful experience today at Dr. Johnson’s office. The staff was so wonderful. The office is immaculate. Karol Was so patient and so informative and beyond knowledgeable. Reagan Was super patient and so kind Now for the review on the doctor: Probably one of the most informative and knowledgeable doctors that I have been to. He took the time to explain to me exactly what was going on with my eyes what I could do for them going forward. I appreciate him and his entire office. My husband has been a patient of Dr. Johnson's for several years and had two cataract surgeries last month. My husband has always been pleased with visits to Dr. Johnson and is very satisfied with his surgeries. His vision is much improved, we knew what to expect going into the procedures, and Dr. Johnson called the evening of the procedures personally to see how my husband was doing. We really appreciated Dr. Johnson's thorough explanation of the different lens choices for the cataract surgery. Based on a friend's experience, my husband thought he wanted multi-focal lenses, at an additional cost of several thousand dollars. After talking with Dr. Johnson and asking a few questions, we quickly realized that the basic lens was perfect for my husband's needs. Dr. Johnson agreed. That conversation saved us a lot of money and gave my husband a better chance at the result he was looking for. Before surgery, my husband was using +2.50 reading glasses, had lost some distance vision, and was seeing only muted colors. Now, he uses no reading glasses and is amazed by how bright and crisp his vision is overall.

My wife and I have been patients of Dr Johnson for several years, being referred to him by her sister and husband who have been patients for the better part of a decade. Dr Johnson performed cataract surgery on both of them and both are extremely satisfied with the results. Dr Johnson recently performed cataract surgery for me and I am amazed by the results. I had an exceptional experience with Dr. Mark Johnson and his staff for my recent cataract surgery. At 72 years old with a very delicate eye condition, I was extremely nervous but Dr. Johnson put me at ease. Not only did I have a very mature cataract, but I was also extremely myopic with a -25.5 prescription - the highest on record at his office. This elongated eyeball made measuring for the precise intraocular lens (IOL) challenging. The measurements showed I needed a special 3-piece lens rather than the standard one-piece. Additionally, a previous eye surgery had replaced my vitreous with liquid, which raised concerns about whether it could adequately hold the new lens capsule in place. Despite the difficulties, Dr. Johnson promised improved vision but was upfront that he couldn't guarantee perfection. I appreciated his honesty. On surgery day at the Sarasota surgery center, the nurses were incredibly kind and attentive. They made sure I was warm and comfortable throughout by frequently providing heated blankets tucked around me at my request. After the surgery, I was overjoyed to be able to see clearly without glasses or contacts for the first time since getting my first -4.50 prescription at age 9! Dr. Johnson even called later to check on me. I am utterly thrilled with the results. Dr. Johnson's skills and his perfect lens selection have given me a new lease on life being able to see with my own eyes at my age despite my eye's complexities. I'm so grateful! Highest recommendation for Dr. Johnson - simply the best!
