Matt Weaver OD Inside Eyemart Express

I took my elderly Mother and myself for exams. To make a long story short, she finally has glasses that she can see out of for the first time in over a decade. Also, Dr. Weaver has a wonderful personality with a great sense of humor. He was informative and gave diagnosises where others neglected for both of us. Great doctor and staff. I was happy to get a scan versus traditional pupil dilation too. Highly recommend that.

Scheduled an apt on 1/8. Scheduled my appointment for 2-23, arrived 20 min ahead of time to be told I had no appointment and that im not in their system.

Dr. Weaver is a great optometrist, but the front desk staff is awful. They failed to notify me that my trial contact lenses were in. I called about two weeks after ordering them and the lady was rude and said it takes time to get them in. I waited two additional months and stopped in and they were in a basket up on the shelf. I have tried calling three times since to order more contacts and I have yet to get a call back.

As other reviews have said Matt Weaver has always been a great optometrist. He’s the only one I’ve ever been to. With that being said, I have never had someone talk to me the way his front desk did. I’ve only been to an optometrist 3 or 4 times in my life so I’m not incredibly familiar with how the process works. I called about getting more contacts and asked if they had any in stock and if not, could I get my prescription to order some. She said they didn’t have any in stock, so I asked if I could get my prescription then. She said “Well have you ever been here?” I said yes, told her my name and she assured me that I had never got contacts there. I told her he’s the only one I’ve ever been to and my contact case has his name on it. She said that’s not possible because I’ve only been there once and it was for glasses. Of course, I know I did because Dr. Weaver made sure I could put them in and take them out before I left and I told her this. She told me it must have been the other Weaver optometrist. I then figured I had to have the wrong number and said “Was he the one next to the Eyemart Express?” She said “No that’s us”. This is the only one I’ve ever been to. She said “Nathan, you have never got contacts here.” I told her it was probably around 2020 or so when I had last got them. I figured they may be able to use my last glasses prescription for the contacts. She said “well you can’t get contacts if you haven’t had an eye exam in the last year”. That’s fine, start with that. That would be much better than insinuating that I’m lying for some reason. I’ve never left a review before, and I never wanted to leave a bad one. Make sure you look at the recent reviews before going here. I’ll be finding somewhere else to go.

Dr. Weaver is a very caring and knowledgeable doctor. I've been going to him for several years. His front desk clerk is very rude. She was rude to me the last time I was there. I took my service dog with me this time and was shunned by her, got the major eye roll and she talked about me and thought I didn't see her. I told her that it wasn't easy having a disability and to call the number on my card for validation. She rudely remarked, ' I don't need that!" So my suggestion to you is, don't go to this office. Even though I appreciate Dr. Weaver, I will not be going back. I was crying and very upset. I did not receive an apology.
