Metrolina Eye Associates

At first it was great. Dr. Blotnick and Dr. Peterson are excellent. However, they are specialty doctors . My recent eye exams have been pretty below par especially considering I have had retina surgery with one of their retina specialist. However, he is no longer with Metrolina Eye. After my most recent experiences, I can see why. I had new lenses made for my glasses and they said they called to let me know they were in but no one left a message so I had no clue who called. After 3 1/2 weeks I finally called them and they had them there. I was trying to find the best time to pick them up and there were no times posted on their website or on their phone line as to lunch times for the office staff and no one was answering the phones! I inquired about why they don't do this for their patients and the girls at the front desk said many people have complained but the management/owner doesn't do anything about it. So, today, I said to myself, "what the heck." I'm done here! I'm going somewhere else! Good luck folks!!!!

While the providers were highly recommended and appear to be highly qualified, the staff including the scheduling staff counterbalance the office with their hostility, incapacity, and complete disregard for their limited scope of medical practice. After creating an appointment online to have a typical exam and determine if I qualify for surgical correction, I received numerous emails to confirm, which I did. Then I received numerous phone calls confirming what I wanted. I had to do this multiple times in one week just to get an additional call hours before my appointment to tell me they didn’t think I wanted an eye exam and surgical evaluation. Ultimately I canceled the appointment as the staff was rude, provided medical advice outside of their scope of practice, and unable to clearly understand (after confirming a multitude of times) that I wanted an exam and a surgical evaluation. DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION - the staff is wretched! I will not email the office in private to get this resolved. As you can see in multiple reviews, there seems to be a wait time issue and a front office issue. These should be addressed publicly so people know that they have been reviewed and resolved.

I had been to this office b4, but when my opt left, I changed drs. With my insurance recently changing, I could no longer see my new dr. so I thought I'd give Metrolina another try. Went for an exam and contact lens fitting with Dr. B. Felt rushed and noticed he didn't perform same tests as I had before in visits with prior optometrist. For the lens fitting (I am a long time contact lens wearer); he handed me 2 boxes, didn't ask me to try them on for fit, and sent me on my way. 4 days later, I called the office and told them my vision wasn't quite right and asked if I needed to come in so he could check for fit. Instead, they ordered another trial pair that took 4 WEEKS for the office to receive. I got a call and text message that I could come pick them up anytime during office hours. Went twice during office hours the next day and they were CLOSED. I would NOT recommend if you want personalized care. They are just churning people through to collect $$ from you and the insurance company- which they don't waste any time doing!

Large wait room. Front desk is staffed with knowledgeable and pleasant staff. Patients are moved around to exsm stations and exam rooms. Expect to move around several times. Rest rooms are in hallway near front desk. Parking lot has handicapped spaces but not enough for a medical building of this size.

This Place is Pathetic!!! Could not even get through the phone prompts to make an appointment!!!!! Tried two days in a row during normal business hours and stayed on hold multiple 20 minutes times!!! I even tried through the prompt for the doctors portal, thinking at least someone would pick up to transfer my call to someone who could make an appointment!!! With this level of focus on taking a patients phone call, Who would want to be seen by them and have to have follow up calls that no one will take!!!!!! Only gave 1 star because it wouldn't let me post no star rating!!!!!
