We were charged over $200 above our expected out of pocket costs for services not covered by insurance, without any prior notification or consent. There was no transparency about these additional charges before the services were provided. When we brought this to their attention, the response we received was, “We’re sorry, she should have said something, she’s new.” Being new is not an acceptable excuse for failing to clearly communicate costs, especially in a healthcare setting where pricing should be discussed upfront. If you value transparency, professionalism, and honest billing practices, I would strongly suggest choosing a different optical provider. We’ve had far better experiences at Jan’s in Oakhurst, where pricing is clearly explained and you don’t leave feeling taken advantage of!
