Modern Eye Care delivered an exceptional first eyewear experience. James offered friendly, expert guidance in helping me choose the perfect Cartier glasses for my look, and later custom-fit a pair of Lindbergs for sports use and comfortable hiking on the PCT. He even followed up afterward to make sure everything still fit properly, which was both rare and greatly appreciated. Along with Dr. Sabahi’s clinical expertise and Sara’s warm, polished customer care, the entire experience felt personal, professional, and truly premium. I highly recommend them and am already planning my next visit.

I recently switched to Modern Eye Care after going to Spectacle in NW Portland. I am so happy I did! The staff here are professionals. They care about their customers, their results, and they do it right. They got my prescription correct for contacts and glasses, and helped me optimize my budget for what I needed, not what they wanted me to buy. Spectacle went downhill 👎

The optician, James, was very helpful and friendly. They have a great selection of unique and stylish frames, including designers that you won’t find in many optical shops. Highly recommend if you’re looking for unique, high-end glasses that will stand out and bring lots of compliments.

I just moved to the neighborhood, and I knew I had been slacking on my eye care, so I made an appointment. James answered the phone, and he was excellent. Very personable and a great communicator. He quickly verified my insurance plan was in network, and he was able to get me in within 24 hours, which was fantastic! On the day of my appointment, I drove over and met the rest of the team, Sarah and Dr. Sabahi. Everyone on this team was so friendly, and the whole experience made me feel like the sole focus of attention, which is a rare feeling in 2026. Dr. Sabahi breezed through the assessment, confirmed some expected changes in vision, and had me sync back with James to pick out a pair of glasses. James had me feeling like a Kingsman with all the different options, suggestions, and compliments on what would look nice on my face. After some deliberation, I selected my frames, paid for the exam and glasses, and now I'm just waiting to hear when they're ready. Overall, this was an exceptional experience thanks to some exceptional people that care about what they do. Thank you to the whole team! You are all tremendous!

Dr. Sabahi and the team at Modern Eye Care of Portland are at the top of the eye care game. Yes, they have top tier frames and the styles they have are amazing. But I think what really sets this practice apart is the patient experience. Dr. Sabahi and her team made me feel empowered and I learned so much about eye care. I've been suffering with extreme dry eye and Dr. Sabahi provided a solution that has given me great relief as well as educated me along the way during my eye exam. The experience of choosing and getting fitted for my glasses and adjustments was such an educational experience. James the optician did an amazing job of helping me understand what I should expect during the adjustment period, and helping to calm my nerves about my new glasses. And when I needed some tweaks he knew exactly what to do to help ensure my progressives were sitting on the proper place on my face. I had no idea that all of these seemingly minor tweaks could make such a difference in how my frames feel, but it has made all the difference! Thank you to the entire team at Modern Eye Care of Portland, Dr. Sabahi, James and Sarah all made the entire experience wonderful from start to finish.
