I'm writing a review based on my ten day hospital stay in May. I came into the ER and immediately received a bed. You can also check wait times for the ER on Langone's website. I was impressed with the speed of everything in the ER. The ER was hectic and a little crowded but I was taken care of and able to get tests and imaging done quickly. I entered the ER around 7pm and was admitted after a few hours. At around 7am the next day I was transferred to a shared room at Tisch. The level of care I received was exceptional. The diagnostic workup was thorough, ruling out every possible alternative diagnosis before treating me. The team anticipated complications before they happened and monitored intensively. After 5 days I was transferred to a private room in Kimmel, this is where the video on my review was taken. The room was big, bigger than the average NY apartment, cleaned daily, and had a great view of the city. The nurses in both Tisch and Kimmel treated me with kindness and were genuinely friendly. The food was also pretty good and the croissants from the Kimmel dining hall were exceptional. All the doctors and nurses were responsive, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in my recovery. What impressed me most was the multidisciplinary approach. I had teams from gastroenterology, endocrinology, internal medicine, radiology, and pathology all coordinating my care simultaneously and it was seamless. I never felt like I was falling through the cracks despite having so many teams involved. Lab results, documents, and notes were all easily accesible via my iPhone on the NYU Langone app. I'd like to give a special shoutout to nurses Eunice, Mikhail, Meghan, Hannah, Olivia, and Luis. Maya, a medical student working on my case. Erika, a Patient Care Technician who checked on me regularly. And Dr. Vasantham Chaudhry and Dr. Joanne Bruno whose communication and coordination was exceptional and gave me confidence in the team working on my case.

Most horrible experience in my life. I came to the ER with an acute lumbar disc herniation and was in excruciating pain. During one episode, I spent a long time crying in pain while waiting for help. Multiple staff members walked by, yet I felt that no one took responsibility because I was not their assigned patient. No patient should feel abandoned while in that condition. I also felt that my wishes as a patient were repeatedly ignored. I clearly explained that I was in the acute phase of my injury and did not feel ready for physical therapy. Despite this, I felt pressured to participate before I believed my pain was adequately controlled. My concerns were not taken seriously, and I did not feel that my right to make decisions about my own care was respected. Communication between the Emergency Department and the inpatient team was also poor. After I was admitted, I had to repeatedly explain my condition and concerns while still in severe pain. I appreciate that emergency departments are busy, and I recognize that many healthcare professionals work under tremendous pressure. However, being treated with compassion, having pain addressed promptly, and having informed treatment decisions respected are fundamental parts of patient care. I sincerely hope NYU Langone reviews its Emergency Department’s communication, pain management, and respect for patient autonomy so that other patients do not have to go through a similar experience.

I have only wonderful things to say about this hospital, especially the neurosurgery staff. We spent four days split between surgery and the 16th-floor ICU. Every single person we came into contact with—nurses, techs, administrators, and everyone else—was kind, knowledgeable, and genuinely fun! While the room wasn’t the cleanest I’ve ever seen, the excellent care we received is what truly matters. Plus, you can't beat the views! My husband is an avid sailor, and watching the river made his stay so much easier. Thank you to everyone at NYU Langone! I hope we never have to return. P.S. Special thanks to the nurses and staff including but not limited to: Kathleen Jennette, Guetty Joseph, Karen Marie Fernandez, Alyssa Hackney, Frankee Cooper, Lauren Deonarine, Julia Flaim, and (Other) Julia. Also, Dr. Khan, Dr. Carter, Danny NP, Madalyn PA, and all of the Neuro Surgery residents. Apologies and thanks to anyone I forgot. You were all amazing!

Had surgery here this year. The lobby is nice and huge, but they give you the bait-and-switch with the upstairs surgery area. I can’t believe what horrible surgery facilities NYU Langone has. It was dirty, the bathroom terrible, the pre and post-op area a disorganized mess, and looks like a post-apocalyptic hospital setting. Basically pre and post-op is one long messy hallway with curtains, gurneys, and discarded stuff along the walls. Only one or two dim bathrooms. They even made me walk to the operating room myself, down narrow hallways (lined with equipment that looks like it was stashed and abandoned there), and had me stand against a wall in the operating room while they finished setting it up. When I woke up, the nurse assigned to me ignored me and had an attitude, I had to ask other nurses for help. My relative was not told I was done either, despite repeatedly asking, and eventually had to leave the small waiting-room to wander around and look for me herself. The post-op follow up was not great either, just a defensive surgeon who is supposed to be top of their field, but is more interested in keeping things moving. Disappointing experience. Two stars for not dying and because there are other departments that are good.

I want to point out that I have only been involved with the NYU Langone hospital system once or twice and that was a very long time ago. I did not have any issues. I am making this reveiew because recently, some bad things happened. Basically I had called this number for the NYU Langone Medical Clinic. Apparently it is for the place at Sunset Park. I simply wanted to ask some questions. What had happened was that when I called, I had set the phone down and was a little distracted as it was ringing and then I heard a man's voice. I responded and it seemed to be a technical issue where he couldn't hear me and he then hung up. But with what happened the 2nd time, I have my doubts. I called again and without anyone picking up, I was immediately hung up on. I have a terrible condition and someone in a different hospital system had mentioned NYU Langone as a place where I could possibly receive help. I will no longer consider going to any NYU Langone place. What I described with the phone calls I made, happened today, June 26, 2026 at about 11:11 AM. It just so happens that the NYU Langone system, on purpose, have no number and email clearly listed to report any issues and particularly if you are not a staff member or patient. I have not found anything whatsoever. So, I decided to give this place a call, since online it shows its number for general questions. I mentioned wanting to make a report. The woman on the line was not overly rude or bad or anything, but towards the end of the call she asked me if I had any interest in receiving services there. I said no. She then sounded impatient and bothered and asked if I wanted to be a patient there or something like that. Basically, she wasn't interested in me wanted to make or send out a report. I kindly, said no and that all I wanted to do was make a report and thanked her. From there, she said nothing, and quickly hung up on me, as though there was no importance or value in me or what I had to say. This was also today, but at 11:47 AM. The call where the woman picked up, was from this place, under which I wrote this review and it is not the same number I mentioned above.
