At the State College office, they require that their patients receive a preventative scan, which most insurance providers don't cover. This results in an additional out of pocket expense for their patients of approximately $80. At the Penns Valley office, they still recommend the scan, but they don't require it. They are more concerned that their patients can afford the eye care that they need. They don't want their patients to forego eye care do to excessive out of pocket expenses that are not necessary. Thank you, Penns Valley office. Plus the staff are great.

Dr. Hollister is excellent! So thorough and professional and her staff is top-notch too. This office always runs on time, I've never had a wait and never felt I was being rushed. I have always, and continue to, highly recommend! They really do care about your eye health and your vision and they get it right the first time. Most of my visit was terrific. Brittany, the assistant was excellent. She was pleasant and friendly. She was knowledgeable and professional. Dr. Hollister was awesome. She was thorough and explained everything.....but the receptionist....I waited over 5 minutes for her to check me out, while she ignored her job to talk personal stuff with someone at the counter that wasn't a coworker or a patient. When I realized she wouldn't be ending her conversation anytime soon, I interrupted and told her to bill me if I owed anything and I left. I was not happy.

All the people were so friendly and helpful. Everything was explained to me very carefully about what they were going to be doing. I'm scheduled for an appointment next year

Entire staff from receptionist to tech to doctor and including eyeglass specialist was friendly, courteous and helpful. Any additional charges not covered by insurance was explained prior to providing. Results were thoroughly gone over and any questions answered. I will continue to have my eye exams and purchase my eyeware from Nittany Eye Associates in Spring Mills.
