My partner got transferred here from Northwell Forest Hills and everyone was truly exceptional. The non medical staff are def a bit discouraging but they are security so they’re a reason for that. The nurses AND doctors were truly amazing I find so many good nurses but good doctors can be a hard find sometimes and this places def has both.

I’m only giving 2 stars because Ha Lee Im was an amazing nurse. Beyond that, I felt ignored and mistreated while in pain, which aligns with concerns I’ve seen about how Black women are sometimes treated in hospitals. Briefly, I went in for two ambulatory procedures and ended up in CT ICU with a collapsed lung. Nurse Kelly Shapiro and Olivia (I don’t recall her last name) need to reconsider their roles in patient care. I understand that the new system is challenging, but patients shouldn’t be reminded of it every time a nurse or staff member enters the room. I had to disconnect myself a few times from the monitor to get attention and go to the bathroom. Olivia was asked for Tylenol because I was in pain, and she said I had no script and needed to check, then she went to lunch. When she returned, she didn’t check on me until she asked, “What time is your daughter coming to get you?” I didn’t even know I was being discharged. There are too many issues to list them all, but my three-day stay (6/1–6/3) was only okay when Ha Lee was there. I would consider going elsewhere in the future.
Horrible horrible horrible!! My husband has ITP and his platelets crash fast . We went at 9:30pm Tuesday night and the emergency front staff is nasty attitude and just ignored our pleas that if he crashes to below 10,000 it goes very fast to 0 and he will die . I just got home after they told us his platelets are at 3000 and its been over an 1 and a 1/2 and still no meds to get his platelets up . They are ignoring us and this is just a document incase the unthinkable happens to my husband because they are not treating him seriously and dont want to understand how dangerous his platelets being at 3000 is . If something happens to my husband and bleed anyplace in his body its caused by the lack of the entire staff at the LIJ emergency room !!
This place will make you MORE sick. The NURSE Trisha doesn’t know basic phlebotomy and will fail to find your vein or even ask you to make a fist. And the assistants will slide the UNSANITIZED temperature thermometer down your THROAT WITHOUT THE GAURD In general everyone is so lazy and moving as slow as they possibly can, watch the way they walk. Waited over 2 hours for this type of service while I had stomach poisoning, all I needed was an IV bag. Never left a bad review in my life but this place deserves worse
Customer Service. I wanted to give a review about Maureen. My friend was recently diagnosed with Cancer and she had her first day of Chemo and I really wanted to drop her off food. She was really sweet and took the food upstairs for me. It was a small jester and outside of the scope of her job. But I appreciate her and thank you to her.
