Northside Family Eye Care Optometry

Beautiful office, but the quality of care does not match the aesthetics. At my annual exam, my progressive bifocals — prescribed by this very doctor last year — were misidentified as single vision lenses. When I asked the doctor to pull last year's prescription to compare, he didn't bother coming out of his office. He simply declared I no longer need bifocals. I wear them every day. When I asked a clinical question about how accommodative lenses work — because I wanted to understand the technology before spending extra money — he compared them to a sneaker versus a flip flop and left it at that. That is not a satisfying answer for a patient trying to make an informed decision. The entire visit felt transactional. Once it was clear I get my lenses filled elsewhere, the level of engagement dropped noticeably. I've canceled my appointment for next year. Patients deserve to be heard and taken seriously, not brushed off.

Updated: a year later plus 2 visits since my initial review, and they are still 5-star worthy! We have now seen both Dr. Ashley and Dr. Joseph and loved them both! All of the staff members are sweet and accommodating (even with 3 family members getting their yearly eye check ups at one time!). What a wonderful experience! My kids and I all had eye appointments today, and everyone at this office was so kind! This was my daughter’s first ever eye appointment, and she loved it because of how great and friendly everyone was. We saw Dr. Ashley and she was very friendly, knowledgeable, and great at educating! As someone who has had a few eye issues in my life and is not a stranger to eye appointments, I have to say this optometry office is the absolute best! Added bonus: their decor and entire office feel was incredible!

This is by and far the best eye doctors office I have ever been to. Dr. Ballard is superb, he listens to you and you can tell he really cares about you. The office staff were all super friendly and professional. Last, but not least, the office itself is beautiful and very welcoming and comfortable.

Great experience at Northside Fmaily Eye Care. All of the staff was friendly and helpful. Doctor Ballard was excellent with my ASD child he made her feel very much welcomed. Very easy to talk to and provide lots of great information!! Ms.Jessica that took the xrays.frames for her reading glasses.Even down to the front dest ataff rocked.Ms.Abbigale was also awesome for helping my little one pick out frames.I would give this place a 10 out 10.

Northside Family Eye Care is the place to go for eye care in the area. All of the staff are knowledgeable and caring. Our family has been seeing Dr Ballard for many years. He is simply the best. You are not just a client to him. He treats you like you are part of his family. Dr Ballard takes time to listen to you and he explains everything clearly. He is professional and kind. I am grateful for the care he provides for our family. We moved from the area a few years ago but happily make the two hour trip to Northside Eye Care. It is truly the best of the best!
