Take your new prescription and run! These are highly incompetent people, and the lens lab they use will make you go cross-eyed. The real kicker is, you have to pay for bad work.
I’ve bought 3 pairs of glasses on two different occasions in recent years from the Optical Shop at the Grove. Both times, not once but twice, the optician at a desk in front, Thomas Sylvester, was the crabbiest most unpleasant employee of Ochsner I have ever been around. I don’t think he enjoys his job nor likes working with shoppers. He was a jerk . My husband was watching and agreed. I will visit other Ochsner optical shops for my future vision needs and avoid Mr Sylvester. I hope he finds another job he might enjoy. He gives Ochsner a bad name.
This visit was a significant improvement over previous ones . We were served by Lori Clopton , Certified Optician . I believe that Lori sensed that we were a bit skittish due to previous visits to eye glass vendors . She patiently listened to our shopping history and the results thereof . She answered our questions , exhibiting considerable knowledge gained from her years of experience . She guided us through the ordering process making sure that our order would be proper for the given eye condition/s . Lori promised to be there when we return by an arranged appointment and that she would assist us in receiving and testing the new glasses . Now , of course , we have to wait for the visit to claim the new pair and then be able to review that event . But we could not give Lori any higher Mark's on the first visit . Such an improvement over previous experiences !
Ochsner Vision Center in Baton Rouge is great - Andy & Kerry are both awesome and a huge help. Kerry spent hours with me when I picked out my prescription glasses and Andy was so helpful in getting me the sunglasses I wanted. I'll definitely be back and highly recommend them to everyone!
Dr lefluer was thorough and kind as was his tech. And Lori the optician really went above and beyond to make my experience personal . Highly recommend them . Will definitely be back . Even just to have a chat with the amazing Lori!
