One Hour Optical - Aurora

Please READ 1st the doctor is fantastic. The staff and managers in both locations off Parker Road and Abilene are horrible. I went in April 2026 with the highest eye coverage. My order was not submitted and when I called Parker Road manager said there was an insurance problem. The Parker Road manager was so rude and disrespectful and dismissive. I contacted my insurance who said no problem. It took until May to get my glasses from Parker. When I got them I couldn’t see. I told them and they sent me back to the doctor the Abilene doctor to get my prescription checked. I did. Nothing off. Abilene said the prescription code was for computer not regular prescription for progressive lens driving and seeing. I told them I almost hit someone because I couldn’t see them. Abilene said they would fix it at the start of June. Ablilene called me July 8, 2026 to pick them up. To my surprise the young man that discovered the issue was no longer there and the glasses were still the same. They used my insurance and gave me the wrong prescription. Now I’m gonna have to go elsewhere to get the correct prescription done and because they held my glasses refused to refund the insurance company so now I have to pay out of pocket. I and my children have been going here for years. Yea their selection of glasses is crap, the office staff changes constantly but the doctors are great. If I could give these to places less than one star I would. I could’ve killed somebody. *UPDATE: July 9,2026, I returned the glasses after I was told I should have another eye exam. I’ve had 2 already. It wasn’t the doctor, they didn’t make the glasses correctly. The insurance company called them & they didn’t answer. Waiting for reimbursement to the insurance company and me.

Dr. Dobson is very nice and very thorough and provided my mother with good care. Unfortunately when I brought my 86 year old , legally handicapped, with early stage dementia mother in for a scheduled appointment we had to wait a little over an hour past her scheduled time to even be seen not including getting there a little bit early which you expect to need to arrive a little early. That took a real toll on her. It was almost 2 hours before we left. We received a bill for more than the receptionist told us which we would not have agreed to and left. The service and care were fine before this. The bill will be paid. It is what it is. Unfortunately we won't be back. I can't have this kind of wait time happening with my mother. It's to hard on her. We will try to find another location with more doctors available. Sorry but I have to do what's best for my mother.

Dr Dobson was very thorough and explained everything very clearly. He answered all my questions and I felt at ease throughout the entire experience. His staff were also very nice. I would definitely come again if I need to.

Dr Dobson was utterly phenomenal. He fit my wife in while she was having an emergency with her corneal dystrophy at the end of a day where he definitely could have just gone home early. My wife has autism, and he was incredibly patient with her and her specific needs. I'd definitely more than recommend this clinic to adults with autism or parents of children with autism.

Great place kind people. Very help full been coming here for years and always get great support and results for my lenses.
