I am very, very disappointed with my experience(s) at 'Wink Eyecare' (Walmart Vision Center, Turner Road, Salem, OR.). I'm a 67 year old native Oregonian and I've had glasses/contacts since I was 8 years old. I have had 6 different eye doctors over the years. All have had degrees from our highly-rated/regarded Pacific University (Forest Grove, Oregon). I've been a big fan... and still am. However, my most recent experience was so ridiculous that I'm writing to inform others to stay away from this particular Walmart Vision Center! I will not go into great detail here, but the bottom line is that this is something the "Oregon Board of Optometry" should look into. The "eye doctor" at this location totally messed up my prescription and then, without an apology (or explanation), required me to make the 2 hour round trip so that it could be corrected. I have never, in 67 years, ever experienced a more disappointing interaction with any "professional" in the great State of Oregon. BTW- This particular "doctor" is the current President of the "Oregon Board of Optometry." Wow, is that not interesting!!?? So, who do I file a complaint with?

My daughter has a large prescription from an eye doctor in Portland and Walmart Optical off from Mission and Turner Rd have no problem filling the eye exam prescription. The lenses, frames, any additional coating like transitions are a reasonable price. Good quality frames and lenses at affordable prices. I highly recommend this location.

Everything was great at first. It wasn't financially feasible to get daily contacts, but the optometrist reassured me that if things changed before a year's time to simply give them a call and they could easily change the contact script. 8 months later I called to do just that.... I was told that I would need to get another exam if I wanted the same script, the same brand and fit, I currently had but in dailys. Apparently too much time had passed in order for this simple switch. I was still allowed to order more of the original contacts, but was denied being able to order anything relatively identical as an eye exam was needed to make sure nothing changed. This seemed highly hypocritical to me. When I tried to point out the flaw in their logic I was given the same cookie-cutter answer over and over. They seem to be more about money and what was easier for them.
