Optometric Physicians Of Middle Tn

I think it is safe to say I have never been impressed with an optometrist until today. I saw Dr. Michael Durocher for the first time, and from the moment he walked into the room I could tell something was very different about him. Later in our conversation, I learned he used to be an ICU nurse. That connected all the dots for me. As a registered nurse myself, I immediately recognized the difference. He didn't just perform an eye exam. He assessed me as a whole person. He took the time to listen, explain what he was seeing, answer every question I had, and make sure I actually understood everything. His critical thinking, attention to detail, and genuine concern for his patients were evident throughout the entire visit. Healthcare needs more providers like Dr. Durocher. His clinical knowledge is outstanding, but what impressed me most was his ability to make a patient feel heard instead of rushed. This was, without question, the best experience I've ever had with an optometrist, and I would recommend him without hesitation. The other staff was amazing as well and all vert kind and super knowledge. Both the front desk individual and the technician were in training and each of their preceptors were super kind, patient and very thorough in their training. I was very impressed!

Having made several visits to this office over the past couple of years, I have always felt well cared for. The staff members are knowledgeable and efficient. A comfortable environment.

The OPMT staff was excellent! From the time I walked in the door, through the eye examination process, to selecting the perfect glasses, and efficient checkout with explanations of insurance coverage… This was a very positive experience! I will refer everyone I know, Friends and Family, to OPMT!

The doctor was great with his patients. And he seemed caring about what he does with his patients. He was thoughtful, he waited for my eyes to clear up after he did a eye exam with a flashy light. And my eyes were seeing spots so I asked him to wait and he did wait. So, that was very thoughtful.

Another great experience. This is my son’s second appt and we are very happy at OPMT. The Staff are very kind and great with kids. Dr. Durocher does a great job interacting with kids. He walked my son through some of the images of his eyes, which he thought was cool! And he kept him part of the conversation. We will stick with OPMT.
