First time went to have my eye check. First at all doctor was late coming in. The office in back is so small, no room to maneuver around, also little stool you sit on to check pressure in your eye so slipper and has a wheel on it. safety issue of patient. and doctor did not even dilated my eyes to check. she said she doesn't recommend it. also they are still on paper so, it took her while to give me my prescription. when i as staff some question about my insurance they said only doctor can tell me about it. Would never go there again

Absolutely Wonderful!!!! First of all Janet, the Optician who runs the store is professional, knowledgeable, compassionate, and friendly! She shows that people still care about what they do and about others! My rx is extremely difficult to fill, super strong with something called prism too. I was worried they would look super strong and clunky but with Janet’s expertise we chose a style that looks AMAZING on me AFTER the lenses were fit into it! The lenses look gorgeous! Not nearly as thick as I expected! The whole pair looks like fine jewelry for my face! I love them and I can see SO much better without headaches, eyestrain, and double vision!!! Thank you to Janet and JC. penney optical!

I called for an appt and was asked about insurance. I said Medicare. They asked for my number and I gave it. I arrived for my appt and was told"Dr does not take Medicare..appt will cost $99". During exam was told I needed additional testing..cost $39. Last year they did take Medicare...my cost was $35. I ordered glasses, but when I came to pick them up, they were closed for lunch. I asked if I could sit and wait? No, I was told leave, come back in 1/2 hour. One of the associates is quite nice, but the new one, not so much.

I've been going to this JC Penney Optical for the last 14years. Initially, for myself and now for my kids who both need glasses. The staff could use some training on kinder customer service as both women don't seem very friendly. Our main visit today was to purchase a pair of glasses for my kids. I took my kids for eye exams at a local eye-ware establishment and almost forked over $660 for one pair of glasses and to re-lens another pair. CRAZY! I am glad to report that I canceled that order on time and went to JC Penney Optical at the Trumbull Mall. For two new frames and anti-glare with the blue lense to lessen eye-strain from tablets/etc. I spent a whopping $279!!!! Way better that the $660 I almost got suckered into. So, despite the so, so customer service for the variety of frames and deep back to school discounts I highly recommend JCP Optical. Oh and if you have VSP, make sure you ask for an itemized bill and submit it to your VSP provider and they reimburse up to a certain amount, depending on your insurance. So WIN/WIN for our family!!! I highly recommend JC Penny for kids eyeware!!!!

I was disappointed with my service at JCPenny Optical. I paid a 110 dollars for a prescription because I was tricked into getting my eyes dilated. When my parents and I asked for an explanation, it turns out that the doctor who performed it wasn't suppose to do that. I never got a refund and he has full reign to continue to do that to other vulnerable customers.
