Ashley is one of those few in life who are genuinely nice to talk to. She is friendly, helpful, and competent at what she does. I've been going to the Hilo Vision Center for about 4 years now and Ashley has helped me through almost all of those visits. She is happy to help whenever you need and never makes you feel like you are a bother. She is willing to take the time to listen to what you need and tries the best she can. Thank you Ashley for making my visits such a nice experience every time.
The doctor seemed like he didn’t want to be there and wasn’t personable at all. Gave instruction without detail, then got irritated when I was confused halfway through the eye test, basically tried to tell me what answer I should be giving, prescribed glasses that I’ve never worn because it doesn’t help my vision, in fact seems backwards. Only reason they get any stars is because the rest of the staff were awesome.
I recently had my eyes checked at Walmart Vision. I was a bit hesitant at first after reviewing the negative comments about the place. I am used to the mainland system and I think we should try and give these people a bit of a credit sometimes. They are functioning the best they can and the way they are used to. Sometimes we just need to adapt to their system the best we can. Dr. Rowe was really nice and experienced and I had no issues with the staff. We just need to learn to respect them to be respected in return. I had three eyeglasses made. A reading glass, driving glass and a Ray-Ban sunglasses. That was my preference. I was a bit nervous and hoping that they all turned out well. And they did. I was please with the results. I don’t asked for much I just wanted to be able to see the world. And they did they job well at least as far as my experience with them. Maybe I was just just one of the the lucky one’s. Take care you all and I hope I did not hurt anyone’s feelings by being so positive about this place.
What a wonderful experience! The vision specialist who helped me was Kamea. Shout out to Kamea! When I called to inquire about getting contacts and glasses, she was super helpful and sweet from the get go! Also, when I went into the store she was just as helpful, knowledgeable, patient, and kind. It felt like she really cares about the customer’s experience and getting the best deal/option. As these kinds of things can be stressful, Kamea made it an enjoyable experience. The other employees were very friendly as well. Just a great atmosphere!
